A blast from the past!!!

Anybody remember Mall Ninjas???

Gecko45???

Miguel over at GunFreeZone has a link up HERE to the compilation of derp that was Gecko45…

If you need a good laugh, or wondered where the terms came from, this thread on Glock Talk is what started it all in 2001!

Sadly, this one doesn’t include all the comebacks/questions/BS calls from many on GT to Gecko45, those were as humorous, cynical and sarcastic in turns and amazingly Gecko45 never got the fact that none of us believed him after the first couple of posts…

There was another go-round on this back in 2007, and this graphic popped up on THR, in THISΒ thread…

MallNinja

In 2010, this one showed up, courtesy of CalGuns forum HERE.

geardo

There are others floating around out there, including the fat kid with all the crap hanging off him and an airsoft M4… sigh…

Anyhoo, thanks to Miguel for giving us a laugh!!! πŸ™‚

A blast from the past!!! — 17 Comments

  1. We have RANGE NINJAS at my local range. Full camo, molle vests, bloused boots, sunglasses etc. Camo’d AR with every bolt on, screw on, clamp on, glue on accessory that he can find on the internet. Shoots 300+ rounds all from assorted aggressive positions, complete with a hawk like stare left & right after each burst. If he’s really ON that day, gets most of the rounds on a 25 yard silhouette target in a shotgun pattern. (improved cylinder if you must know) When finished, loads his gear back into a light blue Dodge mini van with stick figures and COEXIST on the back window.

  2. I call BS on the first drawing. There are no ballistic plates duct taped to the vest, so it can’t be a true MN.

I really think Gecko45 was teasing the crap out of the internet.

  3. Gecko45 was either a tease, or so completely clueless as to be frightening. πŸ™‚

Off-topic, the Recaptcha box doesn’t appear in either Firefox, IE, or Edge at home, so I’m unable to leave comments on the weekends. Still reading, though.

  4. Right in the middle of typing a snarky comment, I realized that if you had pictured someone who feels they must own pretty near every specialized gun tool every made, that might, might, hit me pretty close to home.
I can put down the Brownells catalog anytime I want.
Oh look, a special punch for removing the AR bolt stop pin! Must have one!
This addiction might be genetic, my father mentioned once, “He who dies with the most tools wins.”

  5. Whenever I feel my Inner Operator get out of control (I Need that Krebbs rail system for my yet-to-be-assembled AK so I can buy an mount the Aimpoint), I read Gecko45’s posts and sanity returns πŸ˜€

  6. Roger- Snerk, yep they exist still… Sigh…

Gerry- ROTF, personally I think Gecko45 was just clueless, probably 14 years old in his mama’s basement…

Rev- Thanks, didn’t know that. I was wondering why you were showing up in the spam bucket.

John- LOL, but YOU actually would know how to use the tool! πŸ˜€

Miguel- Oh yeah, that was a trip down memory lane… And a reminder as to why I got off Glock Talk. Thanks for posting it!

  7. I resembled a geardo at one time. LOL. Only I didn’t wear it all at once.

  8. Ha! I used to resemble a geardo at one time. Except I didn’t wear everything at one time.

  9. Fargo- At least YOU had a real reason… Sigh

LL- Yep, to the embarrassment of the rest of us…

  10. I freely admit to being a Geardo. I blame it on going to war the first time wearing a Y-harness over my MOLLE vest and carrying an M-16A2 that was older than I was.

However, Gecko45 just makes me chuckle.

“If plan A is to take multiple .338 hits; you really need a Plan B” is the funniest line in the history of the internets.

  11. The only “Geardo” thing about me are the 5.11 tactical pants I wear.

They don’t wear out as fast as jeans, fit great and are very comfortable, and have lots of pockets for all the junk I carry.

  12. Check out the Chris Farley movie “American Ninja” – great stuff for a chuckle.

Paladin Press had a book NINJA SECRETS OF INVISIBILITY many years ago, they may still offer it yet. Sneaky sneaky ! :^)

  13. All- Thanks for the comments, and I’ll have to say I fall in WSF’s category… πŸ™‚
