Day three with grandson Jace, and we’re still doing okay…
The boy is quite the bug killer, and got a bit ticked when his waffle stompers caused him to miss some of the bugs. Soooo… He got sticks and went after them with that!
BUT… I made a mistake… I bought a cheep train set, just to keep him occupied.
And made the second mistake of putting batteries in it!!! Had to, to make the train actually run, but I never should have in the ‘station’ part. Annoying does NOT begin to describe the whistles, honks and assorted screechings coming out of that piece.
It’s battery WILL die tomorrow morning… Just sayin’…
In other news, there’s a park just down the street, so every time we turn around it’s, “Park? Park? Â Go park now?” And at 2 1/2, he’s still fearless!!! Sigh.
I’m hoping I survive until Tuesday! 🙂
He is adorable. I think the batteries should not die by human hands. It is part of becoming tolerant. Just act like a Democrat.
Enjoy them while they are young, he’ll be asking you to borrow the car keys before you know it. Once they grow to middle school (junior high), the time just flies !
Is he old enough for one of those Bug Zapper salt guns?
I am waiting for the crew served version before I buy one!
I would think Jace is a bit young for Bug assault guns. The second most requested thing by my deployed Marine sons, by other mothers.
Such a hard gig retirement. Lol
You need to get one of those potato guns (handgun variety) and teach him to shoot bugs with it.
Where’s Vito? Your missing your other buddy!
Where is your buddy Vito?
My grandson is the same age. Thanks for Skype! We’re all going to Alaska in June, they live in Portland. I can’t wait! We’re gonna continue to spoil him a bit, & let the parents suffer for it! 🙂
I have seven grandchildren between 2 and 7…imagine what the house is like when they are all here?
Fargo- Ummm… NOT! 🙂
j.r.- Oh yeah… sigh
John/LL- Not quite yet. He’s got water pistols down pat, but his ‘aim’ is a bit off, and he loves spraying momma and me…
SPE- LOL, one must ‘suffer’ through.
Gerry- Vito is with his daddy in California. But he does miss his ‘puppy’!
Woody- Get them on a sugar high, then give them back…LOL
LL- Ummm, chaos??? 🙂
You are most lucky to have him!
gfa
Hey, it might be worse. When Grandpa is plumb wore out chasing that little one and is snoozing on the couch, a little girl wouldn’t hesitate applying Mom’s make-up to Grandpa.
That nearly happened to me when my daughter was young. Mom had camera ready, but I woke up on time before the deed was done. :^)
Ha! Have fun.
One of the best things about interacting with OPK (Other People’s Kids) is getting them toys that make lots of annoying sounds and then going home.
gfa- No question! 🙂
j.r.- LOL, thankfully when the daughters did that to me, there weren’t any cell phones!!! 😀
Jenn- I am!
Murph- LOL, at least ‘I’ did it to myself!
Man I envy you. I miss those times with my grandkids, who are in their late teens now. No more little ones on the horizon, and I hate that. I enjoy having them wear me out. That means some good nap times with them.
Don’t you wish you had his energy and stamina?
I’d be happy for about HALF that energy!
We all think you protest too much.
You will need a vacation after Jase so you can catch your breath
CP- True dat!
drjim- If we could only bottle it…
WSF- LOL
Rick- NOt far from the truth!
