Well damn…

Sorry, scheduler didn’t go on time this morning…

That nice ‘clean’ yard I had on Saturday…

Yeah, now… Not so much…

The wind came up Saturday, and boom… And the Oaks are getting ready to drop even more leaves…

So yesterday was up and down the damn ladder, pressure washing the downspouts out, and putting leaf guards on the gutters… What a PITA! And of course Lowes didn’t have enough of the good ones, so I’m about 6 or 8 short…

Interestingly, seems like kids no longer rake leaves, I guess it’s ‘beneath’ them…

I know I’m old, but damn, I made good money raking leaves in the fall, to go with mowing lawns! I bought my first car that way!!!

And I’m sure as hell NOT paying $50 a month for somebody to come rake leaves. Grumble…

  1. Quit being a tightwad and buy a riding mower with a bagger . Extra points if you get one that can shoot pecans like an a10 after a tank .

  2. Hey Old NFO;

I noticed that you have leaves in your yard again….
Get a rider mower with a bagger and gather the leaves and have fun doing donuts in your yard while you gather leaves.

  3. You need to get on a riding mower and just mulch them into your grass. Better for them and you. And make sure your rider has a beer cup holder. Advice fee: $50 you saved on not paying the garden boy. (running and ducking)

  4. I’m lucky. I live on the south edge of town. When the north wind comes up, what leaves I have blow clear out of town.

  5. When you buy your power driven landscape maintenance machine, make sure it comes with a snow removal system as well. Then that $50 a month will look like a smokin’ deal…

Joining Fargo in ducking and running.

  6. I had a friend from church who did my lawn professionally $25.
15 years ago, I cost justified a garden tractor with 42″ deck and a snow blade, to the boss.
    She agreed.
Heck, I plow the neighbor’s drives, it’s so much fun.

  7. I just raked Grandpas leaves from his yard ? too bad your so far away I have 2 little squirts that could do it for you! Well maybe make more of a mess for the first couple years ?

  8. All- 😛 I didn’t buy a riding mower because I need the exercise… However… PP- Thanks but no thanks… I remember you and your sister ‘trying’ that…

  9. I’m with the rest of the experts… let go of a bit of filthy lira and get a riding mulching mower. You can get your exercise shifting and raising your beer from the cup holder.
