I read that they want to abolish the police and install Neighborhood Watchs. Now what could go wrong with that. The smartest and toughest ones in the hood will take a leadership roll and anarchy will insue. Scary as hell.
Well, in Chicago that will just means gang-run neighborhoods with periodic turf wars. Ooops, and that will be different how?
Defunding police means funding gangs. It’s Chicago.
Will “Security Latinos De La Lake” provide equal protection for all,
or will they favor Latino populations? Do they investigate? Have they studies the laws they are supposed to enforce? How will they handle a DV event “in progress?”
Will they have body cameras to record evidence of resistant behaviour and evidence of their own lawful actions?
Who can they contact to take up chase if someone they need to “arrest” jumps in a car and is headed over a county or state line?
Not that I have a WHOLE dumptruck full of doubts about their effectiveness…
OF COURSE the Leftists have no idea what they’re creating: they never have, and never will.

Well,there’s a fine and longstanding tradition of, when Government can’t or won’t protect people, Committees of Vigilance spring up to provide self-service.
Of course, the typical Vigiles has a much shorter ‘use-of-force’ policy, usually of the ‘off-ON MUTHAHUMPA’ variety, sure to garner anger and angst amongst the diverse crowds of thugs, criminals, varlets, banditos, barbarians and democrats…
And, assuredly, any non-diverse Vigile committing an act of Vigilance will most likely get jacked up by the local prosecutor’s office and the diverse free-associators that have the ‘eggs’ to counter-vigilance the Vigile.
Weird times, they are here, and getting weirder. Woooo. Still kicking myself for not getting an M1 Carbine when they were cheap and plentiful, and ammo was available. Dangit. Who knew, in my broke days, that I’d really need that Carbine? Silly me, need to go back in time and slap some sense into myself. (Yes, a .30 carbine, all the terminal velocities of a 7.62×39, without the ugly soviet look of an ‘assaulty riflish’. Good enough for Audie Murphy, good enough for me. But, alas, no carbine for me either.. dangit.)
I never hunted for the treasure. I’m glad somebody found it and ended the cult search…unless the finder re-hides it…
Wasn’t me – but think about it – a million bucks worth of gold and jewels ten years ago ought to be worth a tad more today.
It wasn’t BS. It was an on-going, multi-topic discussion about things of great cultural value and historical worth.

Here is an idea my wife three down : maybe this trouble and the idea of defunding police started in the home of all those Somali refuges as a way to get Sharia law’s camel’s nose under our tent flap.

Maybe. If they’re lucky, all they’ll get is repeated mistrials or acquittals. If they’re UNlucky, they’ll get action reminiscent of Wobblies, where the militia simply swarms the location where their member is held in durance vile.
If you abdicate the power of enforcement, don’t be surprised if someone else picks it up.
Are the commies going to go to this trouble for any religious law not their own?
