Portsmouth, VA prosecutors have secured warrants for a number of people in conjunction with destruction/tearing up a confederate monument in Portsmouth…

In addition to state senator Lucas, felony charges were filed against 13 other individuals. These included a member of the Portsmouth School Board, three Portsmouth NAACP representatives and three public defenders. All were charged with either injury to a monument in excess of $1,000 or conspiracy to commit a felony and injury to a monument in excess of $1,000.

And in Portland, a suspect has been identified that kicked the truck driver in the head!

The Portland Police Bureau is on the hunt for Marquise Love, who also goes by the name “Keese Love,” for his alleged involvement in the vicious assault that was caught on video and circulated on social media.

Officials said in a press release they have made several attempts to reach 25-year-old Love, but have so far been unsuccessful. They have said they have probable cause for his arrest.

Several ‘attempts’ to reach him??? WTF??? Where is the all out search for this POS… His ass should be UNDER the jail!

And then there’s this from, my shocked face, and Engrish professor…

Thankfully the ‘warning’ was reported to administration!

“After reviewing this issue with the faculty member, the syllabus has been corrected to ensure it is consistent with university policy,” the university said. “Moreover, the faculty member is being provided additional information regarding the First Amendment policies of the University.”

And I’ll just leave this one here…

  1. Saw where it was the police chief who pursued charges, not the local prosecutors who are politically connected and ‘timid’, but not sure how that would work. If the guy who ironically got hit on the head (he was toppled!) by the statue he was helping bring down eventually dies, does that mean these charges will be upgraded to manslaughter?

Have read that Mr. Love is being actively searched for, hope he resists arrest so he can be given a dose of his own medicine…

There are a lot of far left academics infecting our colleges – hope they can get their comeuppance in some way. Problem is many of the college admin people hold views also tot he far left. To paraphrase Instapundit, “… colleges and universities are such cesspits of leftwing indoctrination…”

Amazing how identity politics can be changed to suit the circumstances…

Good news though – the disgraced Broward County Sheriff, Scott Israel, lost his primary – hope he goes away completely, but I’d wager his ego won’t let him.

    • Depends if the state has that whole ‘in commission’ clause where everyone involved is responsible for all crimes, whether they actually did the actual crime or not. (In the UK it’s the ‘joint commission’ clause, most states have the ‘felony murder’ laws, but some states don’t have equal commission laws for other crimes.)

And, yes, for once, somebody in Broward County actually did something right. Maybe this is the beginning of a conservative revolution down there, maybe. Maybe not, as it is just a bunch of bed-wetting NorthEast leftists, mostly.

  2. First, Old NFO, you can be black too if you’re willing to self-identify. You can also be a female, or one of 40 or so genders if you state that you are. So it’s not unusual that your VP-in-waiting did the same. Poof, she’s a negro.

Second, it doesn’t seem that the police are very enthusiastic in their search for “progressive felons” who commit crimes incident to riots – and people need to focus on their own self-defense. Is a .458 SOCOM upper overkill? I don’t think so. In a riot, through-and-through is desirable. And Mr. Love might be able to try to be a recidivist, but wound channels have a way of deterring that.

    • “it doesn’t seem that the police are very enthusiastic in their search for “progressive felons” who commit crimes incident to riots…”

Before you judge them too harshly, keep in mind they have NO policy or political cover in regards to such.

A cop who breaks up one of these riots, or cuffs and stuffs some arsonista, has a better than average chance of getting fired before the day’s out.

And even if he doesn’t, the aforementioned DAs will simply refuse to charge the snowflakes, letting them right back out onto the street.

It’s ALL sorts of screwed up out there.

    • Negress. Just saying.

  5. To answer LL and all the others, police only charge and arrest for charges people who the prosecutor’s office will actually prosecute. If prosecutor won’t prosecute, why go through all the rigamarole and hassle of arresting?

Seriously. Federal, state and local laws be damned, in too many places the prosecutor’s office or district attorney’s office or state attorney’s office sets the tone. No prosecute rioters? Rioters don’t get arrested. No prosecute people assaulting cops? No assaulters get arrested.

It’s how defacto drug legalization has occurred all across the land. And defacto legalization of blocking roads, arson, terroristic threats, assault, robbery, burglary and so forth and so on.

Combine lax prosecutors with local and state judges that make Obama-era appointed judges seem positively conservative, and you get a situation where you can have the best police force in the land, who solve 99.99% of the crime, and yet very few people are prosecuted and of those very few people get even a small part of justice tossed on them as prosecutors plea-bargain and judges sentence to the minimum on cases they’ve thrown out testimony and denied charges.

Best hope is that the local cops are handing the thugs off to state or federal prosecutors and courts that actually believe in following the laws.

I saw this at the local drug unit. Multiple violent offenders with huge arrest records getting probation or time served over and over and over again by weak or leftist prosecutors and judges, until we could snag the offenders under a better state circuit court or a federal court and then ‘whoosh’ bye-bye to the big house.

Cops aren’t stupid. Cops won’t arrest if there’s no actual chance of prosecution and punishment. Yet the cops get blamed for the prosecutors and judges who fail the people.

    Very sad. Very very sad.

All- Thanks for the comments, and yes, it always comes down to the DA/prosecutor… Sam, it basically said- Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc.) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom.

  9. Hey Old NFO;

I remember reading a book called “Victoria” where they saved the virtues of Western Civilizations where they had called the local college lefties together and out of the quad people came out dressed in “Deus Vult” gear and carrying swords, walked in and hacked all of them up. Something satisfying in that. I have commented again and again that local races are important, that if you ain’t paying attention, a progressive district attorney or sheriff can get elected and cause all kid of problems for you. And Gropy Joe, I think that this is a disposable candidates for the donks this year, get the base fired up, and clear the deck for 2024.

    • Yeah, that’s William Lind’s magnum opus. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed — a bit too much wishful thinking and magical ‘we always win’ results. Even The Probability Broach was more realistic.

And someone needs to remind Lind that for all his obsession with Prussia, it kinda… doesn’t exist any more.
