And here we go…

On the weekend, major holiday (so to speak), massive weather situation, and the Daytona 500. So they do this…

“This Administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call. We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer,” the president said in a statement. “Today, I am calling on Congress to enact common sense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets. We owe it to all those we’ve lost and to all those left behind to grieve to make a change. The time to act is now.”

Full article, HERE.  Apparently they are confident enough to jump up and down on the third rail of politics and thinking they will get away with it…

Something tells me it’s not going to work out like they think… EO or not… Compliance, to use that term loosely, it CT and NY is under 5%, if I remember correctly.

  1. Problem is if they pass the law (HB126?), unconstitutional or not, it becomes the law. So if you choose not to comply how, then, do you practice a perishable skill with the attendant risk of some quisling, and there are many who agree with such laws, informing on you?
It completely kills off gun culture. In two generations it is complete.

  2. “Gun Control” is only the “third rail” of politics when politicians have to worry about getting reelected. The ones in power now don’t have that restraint anymore. They have just PROVEN beyond any doubt that THEY control who wins an election…NOT the voters. So the risk of losing your office for voting to disarm us has been rendered irrelevant. The left just committed the CRIME OF THE CENTURY. They STOLE the presidential election (and a number of others) openly and on VIDEO. They didn’t even TRY to hide their crime. They no longer give a rats ass what the voters think, want or choose. They OWN THE COUNTRY now and the only way to take it away from them is to KILL THEM. They are not going to quit, give up or go away.

  3. My oath to Protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America is as valid today as the first time I said the words.
But this oath is so much more than words.
It is about the country my Great Great Grandfather Immigrated to in search of Liberty and Justice.
It is about the country my Grandfather gave his oath and served in the Pacific during WWII.
It is about the country that my Father served during the Korean war.
It is about the country that I have served from President Reagan’s fight and victory over the evil empire,
    Through Desert Storm (I&II),
Through 911 and so many deployments and sending dear friends into harms way…
    And especially…
It is about the country that my young Son will live in…
I will obey all LEGAL orders of those appointed over me…
I will NOT stand by and watch as my country is destroyed.
My oath has NO Expiration date,
And if evil people mean to destroy my country and re-make it into their own plaything,
Let it happen on my watch so that my Son may live in the Country that God has Blessed.
    If we loose this country,
through apathy, or greed, or ignorance,
our children will stand accusing and enslaved.
Use me Lord, allow me the Honor to serve.
Not for myself Lord, but to serve You Lord,
    And to serve my country,
    and my Family
    and for My Son Lord.

    I mean to misbehave

  4. “weapons of war” ??? Can someone please let me know where to purchase an Abrams or an F15, I have some bitcoin to spend.

pffffft, I actually have no bitcoin, but would still purchase either one if available.

KMA, mr fake president, you and your handlers have no concept of the response you will get if this actually occurs, you just think nothing will happen because nothing has happened as of now, you do not want to go there. I don’t want to go there, because the level of ugly will be more severe than CW1 by an order of magnitude, or more.

These “people” are playing with matches in a room full of gas vapors.

  5. Yeah, that is a statement that doesn’t only treat us like we are stupid, it treats us like we have successfully been coerced to accept the most obvious lies.

Which is some profoundly blind wishful thinking.

Numeracy shows that a bunch of stuff does not fit.

Covid deaths in 2020 were vastly inflated at an alleged 200k to 300k, and the ‘systemic white supremacism’ deaths which were held to justify rioting in violation of lockdown were capped at around 10k per annum. Therefore, if the lockdown had an important value, than BLM should have been delayed.

Lockdown is pointless capricious tyranny, and the nursing home deaths were a consequence of giving the folks running them license to cause deaths without proper investigation.

The deaths from the school violence are lower than 10k. If a small number of deaths is worth shutting down school attendance, and driving up the suicide rate by isolation, why is gun control the only answer to school shootings?

It is because school shootings are a transparent excuse.

At this point, it is appropriate to tell our squishy associates that shutting down funding for public schools is an appropriate remedy to school violence.

As long as we tolerate oppression, we will be tortured. These people will not stop out of the goodness of their hearts.

  6. Canada: Not sure that they have standing. Foreigners can’t sue American companies in American court if the law doesn’t allow it here, so they’d have to sue in Canadian court. Which means that the companies are under no obligation to pay any attention to the results of the case. And since Canada is a miniscule market for any firearms manufacturer, who cares.

Elections: part of the problem is that the elections aren’t for another two years and Americans have shown that they have the attention spans of gnats. Three years of robust economic growth and increased personal freedom and they came out and voted against Trump because “covid”. I know, there were other reasons, but Trump was looking like a lock to win last January so the Chinese coronavirus really was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Also, notice that the Affordable Care Act never went away? It is much, much harder to get rid of a law than it is to pass one. Both practically and politically.

  7. A strict interpretation of the 2nd Amendment would allow anyone with the cash to buy an Abrams, or at least a surplus M60, or a fully loaded fighter jet, or an M113 APC or a surplus frigate or destroyer or something.

Because it’s not about ‘guns.’ The 2nd has never been about ‘guns.’

The 2nd Amendment is about the People’s Divine Right to protect themselves from overbearing Governments, either foreign or domestic.

And, boy, do we have an overbearing Government, both foreign and domestic.

They’ll make it a condition to have home inspections and firearms sales inspections (through the beneficial BATFE) of receiving Social Security or any other form of government payouts. They’ll make it a condition to have loyalty, I mean gun-oaths to get housing, loans, bank accounts.

Yeah. And if the NRA hadn’t been such a bunch of nebbishes in 1934, 1968 and on and on, this really wouldn’t be as much as an issue that it now is.

  8. Some have suggested that this will end with some states refusing to abide by the Federal law, as they do with marijuana. I don’t think so. Legalizing marijuana (which will happen at the Fed level) is going to flood state and federal coffers with loads of tax money and do nothing to diminish the resources that the already devote to drugs. In the case of firearms, states refusing to comply with Federal laws will cause all sorts of problems and do nothing but cost the states and Feds. In addition you would now have loads of state laws that say they comply with Federal firearms laws. That seems a dead end. But certainly end user compliance will be nil in any state that already doesn’t have registration.

If Biden passes something along the lines of what he has promised, it will be time to attack this in the Supreme Court and re-address the Miller decision that allowed the 1934 GCA. Biden may just have shot himself in the foot, because with the makeup of the SC, that is very likely to overturn Miller. This may actually turn out to be a good thing.

    • The Democrats will add enough justices to SCOTUS to do what ever they want. They will make up whatever unconstitutional reason they want to take arms from the people.

      • I sincerely hope they don’t go down that road of packing the SC. Because surely shots will be fired if they cross the Rubicon…

  9. They have stolen the ballot box.
They are stealing the soap box.
They are going for the ammo box.
They are pushing armed when with no other expression into a corner.
    Poke the bear.

  10. Just remember, the people doing this have addresses. And family.

Would be a shame if that information was widely publicized.

  12. The imposition of a socialist regime upon a country has always happened on a population which has been disarmed, otherwise such an imposition could not have succeeded. In The once-United States has the largest armed population in the world and at least 70-something million members of that population consider the present regime to be illegitimate.
Two quotes ascribed to Japanese military officers in WWII: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
And “There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.”
The same still applies today. I speak as a Brit and a great admirer of what must return to being the Republic of the United states of America.
It would seem that turbulent times await you all.

  13. What I haven’t heard in all this is a plan to stop the Dems from messing with the vote. We know where the counts were messed with. The Republican Party needs to get people into those systems. They/we have two years to do this.

  14. “calling on Congress to enact common sense gun law reforms”
So all the previous restrictions have not been common sense?
    TPTB can KMA.
