From Nick Saban… worth listening to…
Nick Saban once told a room full of athletes and coaches that God gave you two ears and one mouth so you can "listen twice as much as you talk."

The past is past, learn from it and move on…
But if I don’t stop whining about things I can’t change, people will expect me to do something productive, or at least to stop ruining what others have done all the time.
I need to give coffee a try sometime. Overlooked that I meant to say ‘But if I stop…’ until the moment after I hit post.
At some point in the future, I need to really work on being more careful.
Bob – IIRC it was Francis Bacon who opined ‘coffee is slow poison for you drink it til you die’
I prefer my caffeine cold – Dr. Pepper #1 choice.
YMMV
Bob- I knew what you were going for. 🙂
Eff Saban. He was given the responsibility to make the Miami Dolphins a fighting team and he accepted only to run away when things got tough.
His tongue is bifurcated
Miguel- He’s not the only college coach that failed in the Pros… Motivating kids vs. multi millionaires are two different kettles of fish! 🙂
OldNFO – Yep. A guy named Rick Pitino comes immediately to mind.
I was successful in high school sports, not because I had a lot of innate talent. Instead, I was coachable and I never quit. I have always felt that at least at the high school level, sports HAVE to be about character, before they are about winning or losing.
The difference between a good coach and a great coach is in being able to motivate a young person to building good character while encouraging them to be the best athlete they can be.
