Sigh…

Many on the Right are calling to defund National Public Radio after it tweeted that the Declaration of Independence is “a document with flaws and deeply ingrained hypocrisies.”

Full article HERE from the Washington Examiner. And then there is THIS article about Chiraq… 88 shot 14 dead over the 4th of July weekend… Where are BLM and all the other black bloc groups protesting that???

And from Reuters, another story about dams and water rights… NOT 3 Gorges this time… Story HERE about Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan fighting over the Nile. This one has the potential to go to a shooting war with a quickness…

  1. Full disclosure, there was a time, literally decades ago, when I listened to NPR during my commute. They were left-leaning then, of course. Maybe you could have considered them part of the propaganda machine, but I could tolerate what I listened to and it was always nice to hear how the other side thought. I had a subscription to The Atlantic for the same reason. I read what they were thinking.

Today it’s gone far beyond what it once was as America polarizes far more than ever before. I can’t tolerate, where once. I did. Let it be Democrat Public Radio and have the Dems pay for it out of their war chest.

  2. The Communists really are trying to tear down everything. National Public Radio is a propaganda machine. I too used to listen to it a bit just to get a sense of what the Left was thinking, but can’t stomach it anymore.

As far as Chiraq–99.8% of the shootings were Black on Black. There’s word that officers are being targeted as well as being worked like dogs since they’re quitting in droves and they won’t fund replacements (like anyone would sign up…).

  3. Old saying from out west: Whisky is for drinking, water is for fighting over.

  4. Have come to some new realizations.

It isn’t America being polarized, and it isn’t, strictly speaking, solely the communists.

These people were basically raised outside of the broader American meta culture, and then managed never to assimilate later in life.

We’ve always had a certain amount of the population, whether immigrant or born here, who were fundamentally too crazy to understand the broader meta culture, and function within it without becoming involved in lethal violence. Or simply evil enough that they chose to turn away from American culture. One narrow slice of examples would be Fred Mors, Jeff Dahmer, Ted Bundy, etc.

The Democrats have always been aligned with murder, fraud, and criminality. From their opposition to the court of Isaac Parker on to the modern criminal justice reform. The Democratic Parties are wicked political organizations, and have drawn many evil people to their ranks.

And the communist religion, divorced from other more positive influences, is incompatible with any society that is capable of peace.

Now is simply the wages of refusing to kill the types who prove by their actions that they are violently disruptive.

We don’t need to kill all of them, and there are few enough that we could kill all of them. If we start killing them, we will only need to kill those who then refuse to get a clue, change their behavior, and assimilate into American society.

  5. LL- Yep, concur.

    MC- Right on all counts!

NRW- Exactly right. And we’re about to see that play out with California, Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona over the water in the west (again)…

Bob- Interesting take on it. I hadn’t looked at it from that angle, but I see your point.

  6. We wouldn’t have to seem reactionary (those of us on the right) if we had stayed the course. NPR should be defunded out of the principles of limited government, not because of something they tweeted this weekend. Now we have to defend criticism of this tweet instead of the broader principle, a much more difficult task. This is, once again, why conservatism and limited government continues to lose.

  7. NPR and PBS both need to go. There are other alternatives, better alternatives, that survive and thrive on private money.

NOVA, the only decent show left short of imported British shows, can go to the Discovery Channel.

If it was ‘Public’ broadcasting, then the shows would match the demographics of all Americans, not just the leftist city folk.

  8. I used to listen to NPR, for Garrison Keillor, until I gave up on him, and some of my local NPR radio station, but I lost interest, and moved out of state. Now, CDs, local ’70’s and ’80s oldies.
I do miss The Car Guys.

  9. My favorite was a couple of years ago when listening to a representative of us car makers in China specifically state that the problem with the car sales was the age of the models and had absolutely nothing to do with Trump…….

The NPR article? Blamed it on Trump and said nothing about the fact that the models being sold in China were stale.

  10. I realized it after a guy who had lived in America for decades was angered because I had spoken carelessly*, and he understood it as a claim that Russians could not become Americans.

Fundamentally, if someone has been here for decades, and learned to behave by our standards well enough to stay out of prison, they may now be culturally American in the most important sense.

I’m not certain of that, my thinking ain’t great ATM, but I think I may have at least noticed an often overlooked part of the truth.

*I was actually trying to talk about the concept of ‘mutual understanding of what peace means between populations’. One of my go to examples is the level of mutual cultural understanding of the pre-Reservation Great Plains Indians and the white settlers. That thing where kinship groups each had a bunch of politically independent warrior bands was pretty alien, and made it hard for whites to understand how certain agreements counted as peace.
