Ouch…

In addition to the problems with getting ships unloaded at ports on the west coast, prices per TEU are up AGAIN!

The cost to transport shipping containers between China and the United States surged to a record high in September.

For what it’s worth, I’d say order your Christmas presents NOW, if you haven’t already done so. This year is going to be ugly!
And another ouch is the latest Senate approval for the Bureau of Land Managment…

The Senate narrowly approved Tracy Stone-Manning as director of the Bureau of Land Management on Thursday over vehement opposition from Utah’s Republican senators, including one who called her confirmation offensive and insulting.

Sens. Mike Lee and Mitt Romney argued that Stone-Manning, of Missoula, Montana, is unfit for the job because of her involvement with tree spiking more than three decades ago. Both described her as an “eco-terrorist,” and earlier called on President Joe Biden to withdraw her nomination.

She was and still is an Eco-terrorist. If you or anyone you know depends on access to federal lands, I hope they have a fallback… sigh…

  1. BLM. President Trump moved their Hq to Grand Junction, CO. The Xiden crowd has reversed that. How long will it take for them to make another run at the Bundy’s?

    • Actually, it was partially reversed.
The actual senior leadership will be returning to DC; the HQ bureaucrats are staying in CO… An odd way of doing it…

  2. Fortunately for people around them, BLM lands are far more open and far harder to close off than forest service and park service lands.
At this point, the BLM is running scared in Southern Nevada; it would take big changes from up high to repeat their idiocy with the Bundy’s again.

  3. One reason that manufacturing in China made economic sense was that the cost of manufacture plus the cost of shipping was still cheaper than cost of manufacture in the US. As the former prices rise perhaps we will see some migration of manufacturing back in this direction. Except for the part where US government progressives will actively block manufacturing activity in the US. Because they don’t like Americans.

  4. A good part of the ports mess-up is the Unions involved are playing games at everyone’s expense. No 24 hour shifts, no non-union employees, purposeful slowdowns in order to force overtime, all the usual games. Add on the Covidiocracy and thus you get the complete stupidity.

I also wonder how much the restricting of electric power by California’s government has affected Lost Angle-esse’s operations.

For I am sure the eneMedia are not giving us all sides of the issue.

  5. All- Good points, and I wasn’t aware the ‘leadership’ got to go back to DC… sigh

  6. My guess is that for Biden, the new BLM director being an Eco-terrorist is a feature not a bug.

And I just read online last week that the LA Port unions have agreed to go to operations 24/7 because the ship backlog is over 100. So maybe conservative/republican/grumpy old people are not the only ones who want their Christmas stuff before next Easter.

  7. I have no faith in anything Mitt Romney does or says…but maybe (maybe) this time he could be on the right side. No breath-holding here.

  8. Yes…the new head moron at the Bureau of Land Management is an ecoterrorist. And the new “comptroller” for the USA is a genuine card carrying commie who graduated from Moscow State University….back when it was still part of the USSR. One of her major agendas is the END of private banking in the USA.

Yep….they commie demonrats aren’t even TRYING to hide their agenda anymore.
