Good Samaritans with guns counter the narrative…
Peaceful Valley, WA – The sheriff released more details about what led up to the shooting of two Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies on Thursday and thanked the armed good Samaritans who came to the wounded heroes’ aid and kept them safe until backup arrived.

A “good Samaritan” with a gun killed an active shooter who may have been gearing up for a deadly rampage at a Texas sports bar Wednesday night, police said.

“But this good Samaritan obviously had the ability to do what he did,” Kapelsohn added. “Who knows how many people would be dead if he had not acted?”

Now the left/MSM will never admit that things like this happen… Their counter is that good guys with guns is a myth, propagated by the NRA and the ebil far right gun groups.
Their other counter is that we’re just out there looking for someone to shoot… Every time a state passes a law freeing citizens to carry, the cry is always, “There will be blood in the streets! It will be the old west! OMG, eleventy!!!” And that hasn’t happened in any case. What HAS happened is Crimes Against Persons (CAP) have in fact gone down in each of those states.
I’ve carried legally since 1986 in Florida, and thankfully have NEVER had to draw my weapon to defend myself or others, and I pray that I never do. But I will do what is necessary to protect myself or others if required.

It is self evident that Evil is all around us. Evil does not intend in obeying the law and will victimize at their will. Every day, we read and hear stories of what happens when Evil decides to make an appearance and cause mayhem and sorrow.
Yet it is the Gun Owner who is painted as the crazy. How dare that you should take steps to prevent Evil from harming you or others near you. It doesn’t stop there – some will attempt to make it illegal for you to be able to defend yourself. That you should render yourself harmless to make them more comfortable. That is evil too.
Meanwhile the Washington state Senate has passed a bill to ban magazines greater than ten rounds and it is being debated in the House as we speak. The same legislature passed legislation last year severely restricting the ability of police to respond to crime. The Antifa and BLM rioters, including those who occupied a large chunk of downtown Seattle last summer (CHOP/CHAZ) were never charged, including those who committed murders and serious violent felonies.
The agenda continues, disarm the people. They don’t care whether citizens protected those police officers, they focus on the criminal who shot them and his rights. Oh, by the way, he was awarded bail ($5 million) so may be out on the streets planning his next shooting as we speak.
If he’s out on bail when it was five million, someone wanted him out and about.
Prepare accordingly.
“It will be the Old West!” said by folks who get their historical information about life in the “Old West” from television shows and Hollywood movies. In fact “civilized” New York was more dangerous than the so called “Wild West towns.”
If you want to know what actually happened when armed citizens confronted the outlaws that threatened town, look to Northfield, Minnesota or Coffeevile, Kansas, not “High Noon.”
Here’s the thing: it wasn’t that Wild West towns were teeming with guns. A lot of sheriffs had a ‘check your irons at the door’ policy.
It was that misbehavior was punished swiftly and ruthlessly. Those sheriffs weren’t interested in screwing around. And trying to throw your weight around could result in the sheriff whistling up a posse, which meant every hand against you in town.
But progs aren’t interested in punishing criminals, so…
I was at a range and this older couple had just come out of a CCW/LTC class and the instructor is telling them to look into ‘insurance’ just in case.
They were talking around me (I was paying for something) so I spoke up and said ‘yes, get it, if you ever need it, it’s worth it. Also talk to your insurance company about an umbrella policy – it’s cheap’.
And the gal goes something like ‘oh, you just can’t wait to shoot somebody, can you!’
*sigh*
I told her that I get death threats because I engaged someone in a massive lawsuit and that I was a little famous so people know where I live. But I don’t think she understood I was just trying to protect myself.
Some people just don’t have the survival mindset.
They have declared a mass shooting to be 4 or more dead; since these were stopped before getting to that point, they won’t count.
But we already knew they weren’t interested in reality…
Can’t remember when I first got a concealed carry but it was from Utah. Later I was able to get one in Colorado. Car lots aren’t always in the best part of a city and are open late in the evening. What would I do in a life or death situation? I want to believe I would do the right thing.
Knowledge can save you. Once in Renton, WA on a test drive the “customer” pulled a semi-auto (Browning clone) on me. I realized he still had the safety on. Army training kicked in and he suffered two broken fingers as I gained possession. Then he suffered a broken jaw and a severe concussion. Pre-cell phone days, he rode with me to the nearest pay phone.
Renton is where trains of flatcars hauling the fuselages of 737’s travel down tracks down several blocks of Houser Way, thus making it the perfect place to spot “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.”
My house was above I-405 and the deck was a great place to watch airshows during SeaFair. From the deck we could watch PACCAR’s test track. Family obligations brought me back to CO but I enjoyed the 18 years we lived in King County.

Maybe. But cops are the last people who ought to be deciding who should for the rest of us.
An armed society is the only hedge against tyranny. I agree that it is a last resort, but it does keep would-be tyrants at bay.
Self-defense is another argument. Where I live there are wolves and mountain lions and people who walk their dogs, pack. People who wander the forest should pack.
…and there are also the two legged predators.
By and large, the only places in the Old West that were anything like the Hollywood Wild West tended to be small mining towns and the like, far from much civilization, and even those were tamer than the Hollywood depiction. I think elsewhere more women and more predictable work tended to cut down on the binges of drinking and gambling that were often precursors to the shooting incidents that did occur.

I fled New Jersistan in early 2000 to my new home in the gunshine state of Florida. Promptly got my concealed carry permit & have carried ever since. Never had to even put my hand on the pistol for serious purposes & hope that continues.
