Wow!!!

In NYC of all places…

A Staten Island Supreme Court judge ruled Tuesday that New York City cannot fire employees for not getting vaccinated against COVID-19, dealing a blow to Democratic Mayor Eric Adams’ pandemic policy.

Full article, HERE from the Daily Caller.

I have to admit I did NOT see this one coming! But at least there is some sanity in the court system! Now if that would translate into a similar ruling for the military… sigh…

The question is, is this too little too late? Especially for the NYPD/FDNY officers that have been kicked to the curb?

Or the employees of the major companies that were fired for not getting vaxxed? Do they now have a case?

And then there is the whole damage to children due to school closures for almost 2 years… It’s not just the scores, but the ability to interact with others, function in society, and even learn due to the masking.

There is no evidence that having classrooms shuttered for a year-and-a-half in many places had any significant impact whatsoever on keeping people alive.  Schools were not major vectors for COVID transmission, but the myriad harms to children associated with “remote learning” are inarguable.

Full article, HERE.

The irony is, private schools that didn’t close have much higher scores for those same grades, and they didn’t see any significant impacts on either the parents, teachers, or school employees due to WuFlu. Of note, a number of public figures, where there were lockdowns, had their kids in private schools… article HERE.

  1. Teacher here. Thinking about retiring because the kids are so broken. The school’s response to broken kids is to dumb down the curriculum (“reaching under-served populations”) but the problem is it won’t go back to normal, it will become the new normal.

  2. I have a firefighter friend from Ann Arbor who was let go.
He has a lawsuit in process.
This is encouraging even though it is in another state.

  3. None of the lockdowns should have occurred. The small shops and stores that ended up being shuttered should sue the dictatorial governors that ordered the closings. Also every parent that had a child that was denied in person learning should sue the school district, the Governor, and the teachers unions for pushing the shuttering of the schools. I would also urge all the men and women that were discharged from the military over the vaccine fiasco to sue the President, The State Depart., The Dept of Defense, and the FOOLS that run the Pentagon over their discharges. This entire Covid nightmare against the American people was an orchestrated event to test the peoples willingness to be turned into slaves of the state through FEAR!

    • It will be the 3 AM massive vote jump that will win the elections for Democrats. How will that happen if there is no one there counting votes; oh yes, it will be Dao-min-yun.

  4. Hey Old NFO, Regading your comment, “Now if that would translate into a similar ruling for the military… sigh…” I agree 100 percent, with none of the services hitting their recruiting goals, the idiots at the DoD need to restore the contract between soldiers, sailors and marines, that the services will take care of you. Right now, it’s not there.

  5. Note also that in New York, the Supreme Court is NOT their highest Court. That is their Court of Appeals.
This ruling may (will) be appealled. NYC and NY governments are obdurate that way.

  6. Democrats will try to do something big, because that is what people in those mental places do.

But, trying is not the same as doing.

They have been trying to do big things for a while, from the same motivation, that have failed because of their understanding of reality.

We have two weeks in front of us, compared to the time since, say, spring. I do not want the stress of trying to remember everything they tried. But, I accidentally remembered Mar A Largo, and that was supposed to work out for them.

If that was one of their ‘good ideas, sure to work out’, their remaining ideas may be even crazier, even from their PoV.

I am sure that they are malicious. It is possible that we may subconsciously pick up on their malice and excitement. But, this does not mean that they will be successful in their malice.

For me, my accepting their success in advance of it being proven may amount to doing some work for them, in the process of their trying to hurt me.

  7. Hey Old NFO;

I read the decisions…What they mentioned was The ruling got better. It continued in part saying, “The vaccination mandate for city employees was not just about safety and public health; it was about compliance. If it was about safety and public health, no one would be exempt.”

To that point, NYC famously gave an exemption to some, like artists and athletes. Regular folks? No such luck.” Yeah…they got spanked., LOL

  8. Damn… John in Indy is correct. I just checked this. You would think the NY Supreme Court would be the highest court in the state but the state Court of Appeals rules over it. So, unfortunately, if appealed, it is entirely possible that this ruling will be overturned unless a case of common sense breaks out

  9. Even if upheld by the Court of Appeals, by now public employees may get a nice bonus in back wages, but they’ve already found new jobs (possibly out of state). What are the odds that police officers, fire fighters, etc. with the stones to tell their employers “Don’t Vax me bro” will come back to work for an employer who was willing to throw them under the bus.

  10. All- Thanks for the comments, and no, I didn’t know that either John… damn…

ALO89- Lawdog got hit by the Russian bots, they ate his bandwidth. He’ll be back next month.

  11. Totally unrelated to this topic is this. P-3 Orion sub hunter video.
    Thought you might enjoy it.

  12. Lynn- Thanks! There are a ‘number’ of errors, but not bad overall… And only covered ONE of seven missions… LOL

  13. Hoping the same thing happens in other states and the military.

  14. I keep thinking that prosecutions of the actual decision makers (not just “the government”) should be happening under Title 18, Section 242 of the U.S. Code: Deprivation of rights under color of law.

  15. I had a friend that used an epic line when stuff like this happens:

“On some level, the system works”

Usually said with a shoulder shrug.
