Another ‘issue’ for Disney to deal with in 2024…

The Walt Disney Company board wants to hide key financial data from the public, particularly as it relates to their funding of the transgender movement and donations to political candidates, documents reviewed by the Daily Caller reveal.

The 2024 proxy vote ballot for Disney’s annual shareholder meeting, scheduled for April 2, reveals the board doesn’t want the public, or even their own shareholders, to know how much Disney spends on “gender transition compensation and benefits” for its staff. Despite the board’s suggested vote to shareholders, the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) and National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) are urging the company to release the data.

Full article, HERE.

As if the last couple of years hasn’t been bad enough with the losses in Florida, the Kennedy fiasco(s), their stock is down, and Trian Partners is trying to get people on the board, HERE, to try to straighten out the company to the point it’s actually making money again…

And the cost just keeps going up, and up, and up! My cousins have been taking grandkids to Disney for years, but have decided to quit doing that due to costs, ending a 30 year tradition. I feel for the kids, but when you’re looking at $6000+ for them and five kids for four days, I don’t blame them at all.

And honestly, Disney’s entertainment is in the tank, too!

Sigh…

  1. I visited Disney World in 1976 and Disney Land in 1989. That was enough. I’m good.

  2. Like Joe, I went many years ago and have no interest in returning. It’s supposed to be a fun place for children and families, not a cause-of-the-week venue that seems willing to cater to adults who should not be around children.

Bring back the original Disney Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Fantasia, and so on, when good was good, evil was evil, and movies were fun and beautiful.

  3. Wreck the animation studios – done
    Wreck the movies – done
Wreck the theme parks – done
Wreck the cruise line – done
Demonstrate you hate your customers – done

No, let it all burn or sink into the swamp.

  4. Joe- Understood.

    TXRed- Agreed!

PK- They have done all that, and are sinking in the red…

  5. And there are rumors, pretty good ones, that now that Disney has challenged him, Elon Musk is kind of sniffing around a hostile, very hostile, very very hostile takeover of Disney et al.

To see him do to the executives what he did at the now ex-Twitter X, well, a thing of beauty is a joy forever.

I can see him personally firing Kennedy and all the other guuurl-power people. I’m sure the ‘Cast’ (that’s average park workers for you unaware of Rat-Speak) will freak out, especially those in the entertainment portion who tend to be very leftist and very non-normal relationship types.

Could be fun. The park rivers may be running in blood in the next year or two… Muhahahahaaaaa.

Would be nice to return to Walt’s original concept for movies and entertainment. Family fun, clean wholesome family fun. What a concept!

  6. I went to Disney World as a kid, and my wife and I went a few years back because my younger cousins were performing down there as part of a spring break thing. Never again. Between Disney Wokeness and criminality, and their crazy requirements for reservations for entrance, dining, etc., we are planning on Universal next time we want to do Florida theme parks. We also canceled Disney+ and will introduce our daughter to classic Disney movies via second-hand DVD purchases.

  7. Most of their feature films these days including the upcoming production of Wicked include considerable blackwashing. I have no problem with black people in films but they tend to feel about whitewashing the same way as I feel about blackwashing. It leads to commercial failures but Disney is determined.

  8. Remember what Iowahawk (David Burge) said?

    1. Identify a respected institution.
    2. kill it.
    3. gut it.
    4. wear its carcass as a skin suit, while demanding respect.

Disney is clearly at (4) and has been for a while. I would advise staying away.

Oh, here’s David’s twitter link for that quotation for anyone who wants to use it:

  9. The Wonderful World of Disney (In Color!)
    All the movies.
Saw Fantasia in theater on one of its many re-releases. Three or four generations in the audience.
Disney World in ’72(with the family), ’79(with girlfriend), ’83(another girlfriend), ’87(different girlfriend), ’98 (with wife).
Proposed to my wife at a stage production of Beauty and the Beast.
All that goodwill destroyed to curry favor with people that will never have 3 or 4 generations of descendants to share it all with.

  10. Hey Old NFO;

I and the spousal Unit have gone several times to the parks and to the cruise lines…..before the dark times….before “Sauron” walked the land destroying everything it touched….Now We shant return until Disney is washed clean of the filth and noxious leavings that is left about the land called “The Mouse”
