Random thoughts…

I’m just throwing this out based on what I’ve seen of the coverage of the NC hurricane and LA fires…

NC- Natural event (hurricane Helen)

LA- ‘Something’ lit a fire above Pacific Palasades

NC- Not much initial coverage due to Helen

LA- 24/7 for days…

NC- Republican rednecks, got what they deserved, houses with Trump yard signs skipped

LA- Democrat stronghold, ‘important’ photogenic movie stars, I’m betting NO Trump yard signs ever

NC- FEMA late because of WX (they said)

LA- On scene within 48 hours???

NC-FEMA offers $750 check (good luck cashing it)

LA- Biden promises to pay for everything

NC- Cajun Navy and MANY other volunteers (helicopters, mule trains, Amish, Samaritan’s Purse, etc.)

LA- Government

NC- FEMA wants people out of hotels (Head of FEMA says you can ‘call’, or go on line, or go into disaster center (that assumes you HAVE a working phone or computer, or a car that works)

LA- OMG, .dov what can we do to help? And deflecting from LAFD/State Gov/Mayor issues

Is it just me, or am I ‘sensing’ some trends here???

Your thoughts?

  1. It’s not just you. The stench of corruption coming off this current administration would offend even sewage department workers.

  2. Yeah, I’ve noted the same dichotomy. Also LA-illegals arrested for arson barely mentioned or classed as “disinformation.” NC-those in FEMA trailers notified they need to move out. LA-Gangs of illegal looters flooding evacuated areas barely mentioned. NC-Looters, what looters? Shoot shovel and shut up (speculation on my part but…).

  3. The Democrats take care of those with money and the hell with those just scrapping by with very little money. Money grubbing Democrats will always sell their soul to the highest bidders.

  4. As Nuke Road Warrior said, I read an Instapundit link showing residents capturing an illegal for trying to start fires in a their neighborhood. It’s an example of what happens when the police don’t do their jobs. Expect more “residential policing” if the police don’t start stepping up.

To your list, it makes perfect sense according to their political mentor (Saul Alinsky – Rules for Radicals). “You punish your enemies, and reward your friends”, so the rest of the population learns how to behave. Stalin did a similar thing with the Kulaks.

  5. One area is in fly over country and the other is the center of progressive culture.

Nothing to see here, move along.

  6. Biden regime perhaps screwed over Harris campaign chances by making it clear to the Georgia state party that they had no pull with the national party.

There’s a chance that HRC insisted on a VP like Harris, because could not win that ‘first woman’ slot, and worked behind the scenes to ensure a loss by Harris.

California and New York factions of the party’s representation in the House still have influence within the national party.

There most definitely are Republicans in California, some in areas impacted by the fires.

This is certainly decades of poor land management (fuel loads), combined with comprehensive and avoidable catastrophically poor water management. Probably also poor crime management, the illegal sanctuary, and or leftist terror soldiers. (Arson reports likely have some truth, and either TCO criminals or left activist criminals.)

But,t he mismanagement of the electrical utilities would have caused ignition events if nothing else would have.

Dresden was a freak success of fire bombing that was not possible to replicate for the remainder of the European theater air campaign, largely for weather reasons.

Letting the fuel build up to this degree was /always/ goign to be a problem when the weather conditions happen to favor fire. The utilities would have supplied ignition incidents even in absence of other accidents and of deliberate malice.

There is very likely a bunch of malice in play. The disastrous ‘environmental’ policy is almost to the point of being inexplicable by ‘innocent’ causes. The Democrats seem to be zero-sum idjits who are personally malicious to even their own subordinates.

Then there was California’s regulation of the insurance market. And the price inflation of real estate, driven partly by building codes.

But, mostly, given the weather and the water, many areas of California were drastically over populated. The failure to build reservoir capacity, plus the smog build up from ICE cars that should have been tolerable. To exacerbate those issues with environmental regulation that accomplished no good for human welfare… They should not have demolished the reservoirs that were already constructed, and they should have kept them filled.

  7. I’d suggest moving LA to NC, but I see no reason to inflict that level of evil upon NC.

  8. I can’t think of an industry sector or branch of government that isn’t CLEARLY corrupt. Hell, even the supreme court has had it’s moments of corruption as I place “leaks” in that category.

  9. There is a news video of a family that saved their Pacific Palisades home because they had a gasoline powered pump. They used the pump to drain their swimming pool and saved their home and a neighbor’s home. They will probably be prosecuted for violating one of the multitude California laws.

  10. A few observations, and a couple of “Conspiracy Theories”(tm):
Leftist policies reward their friends and punish their enemies in every way they can, as a theme, needing very few direct orders, but lots of money and paid agents, be it .gov, NGO, Globalist, or corporate.
I was born and raised in costal So Cal, and witnessed the clearing of the smog over time as cars got more efficient. LAs persistent inversion layer weather traps what smoke there is there, and the LA Basin is a seasonal rain dryland / chappal.
The fuel load problem is from deliberate decisions to disfavor land use that helps people in any way, or decentralizes population and / or economic / political power.
Last year Noisome passed laws making single family zoning illegal, took State control of local zoning boards, and (for example) destroyed the human use and productivity of the Klamath River Valley by taking out the dams there.
The Biden administrations’ promise to “fix LA 100%” is just writing a check that Trump may have to pay.
I saw in the pictures and vids that the burned areas looked a lot like Maui, where the houses were burned to ashes, with green trees standing next to them. I hope that someone with more knowledge of fire science could contribute on this.
Sorry for the wall of text, but with the attacks coming from so many apparently unconnected attackers, it is hard for me to see just who benefits most from it.

  11. I am very angry with the obvious preference for helping the ‘somebodies’ in CA over the ‘nobodies’ in NC. The pattern of intentional mismanagement in California has led to death and destruction. Those in charge should be held accountable civilly and criminally.

  12. Fires are much more the result of bad management, than hurricanes.

You can reduce the intensity of fires by reducing the fuel. Reducing the intensity of a hurricane by reducing the air? Not so much.

Yes, in both cases you can reduce damage by making houses more resistant to fire or wind, and you can manage where they are built, to keep them out of the most obviously vulnerable areas.

However the old principle still stands. “If you own the fuel, YOU OWN THE FIRE”.

  13. There will always be fires. There will always be machinery malfunctions, electrical malfunctions and lightning. Focusing on arsonists instead of fire management, only allows the managers to duck their responsibility .

Speaking as. 40+ year “wildland” firefighter.

  14. I’m not particularly surprised. I’m a Southerner whose family (Mom’s side) was kicked out of their home by the Yankee government–twice.
We don’t expect much to change on that front.

  15. The blatant favoritism was expected and is obvious. Anyone who didn’t/doesn’t see it has their head so far up their ass they view the world through their navel.

  16. Question: Did the idiots in CA ever repeal the rule/law that forbid the removal of dead trees in the various state and fed forests?

If not, I would suggest every one so employed currently, and previously, be dragged to the nearest lightpole and hanged. That sort of mindset is criminal, evil, and stupid.

Another term for “dead tree” is FUEL.

  17. Those fucking us over have names and addresses..

We should totally send them letters to let them know how disappointed well all are!
