My daughter got a chance to take a few photos while on vacation last week…
Yes, I bought her a nice Canon camera a couple of years ago, and she likes to work in black and white. All of these were taken in northern California. And yes, the little boy’s mother was right there, and they got off the tracks as soon as the picture was taken!
A little waterfall near where they were staying…
And a couple of pictures further up the creek.
Some interesting sheers in the rocks on the right side of the creek. All of that is apparently ‘natural’.
I hope y’all enjoyed these, I know I did!
Very nice. Dare I say Ansel Adams like.
What I thought too. Nice work!
Yes, very much in the Adams style – excellent work.

Black and white photographs need sharp details and those photos (to me) are well composed. Go Mom ! :^)
All- Thanks, I’ll pass your compliments along!
Many years ago I got heavily into photography. In those days home color processing was just beginning, expensive, and demanding. I got into B&W, taking over the kitchen as a darkroom. I learned to appreciate B&W as I studied and practiced. And this was in HAWAII, of all places! COLORFUL Hawaii. I REALLY learned to appreciate B&W even more. Those photographs show a discerning eye and I’d love to have had those in the darkroom back then.
Very nice shots! My son likes to shoot in B&W, too.
Good stuff! Notice the rail road spikes sticking up off the plates.
Thanks folks! Bob, Hawaii and B&W…ouch!
Great pictures. California sure is a pretty state.
Great pictures , the young man looks like he is walking with a purpose . Back in the days of film , I had a Canon AE1 and I liked black and white photos too . Seems like the film I preferred was Kodak Tri X Pan . Can’t remember .
Used to love working in Black & White. Developed my own film. Kodak Tri X Pan was good stuff.
