All good things must come to an end, and another get together of the tribe is done…
It was really nice to spend four days with no internet, no TV, just shooting, talking, and eating… sigh
No more big sky sunsets for a while…
In other news, the US Navy is 250 years ‘young’, e.g. 250 years of tradition unmarred by progress…LOL
For those who are or may be interested, HERE is the link to the coin below.
And lastly, I listened to the news yesterday on my way back from vacation as the Israeli hostages were released! Twenty live hostages, and six bodies were returned. The thing that struck me was they were all male. No live females and no live children were left and I was unable to find out exactly how many women and children were taken Oct 7th, killed in captivity, or released… The Bibas mother and two children are the only indicator I could find of any of their bodies being returned, HERE.
Maybe, just maybe this will stop all the BS going on in the US over Palestine and Hamas, now that the peace treaty has been signed.
One hopes…

I suspect that the “peace agreement” is more about the other Arab nations, and that for Hamas, it is Trump and Israel giving them a point of failure, after which the sky falls on them.
Or at least, I hope so.
The peace will not last. Read the prophecies in scripture especially in Daniel and Ezekiel. This peace will be short lived and war will once again take center stage. There will be no peace in the middle east or the rest of our world until Jesus Christ returns and takes charge.
I am a bit more optimistic about peace — at least for a reasonable length of time — in the middle East than the two gentlemen before me here. Why? Because it is in the interest of Israel, of course, but also Saudi Arabia and Egypt. With baking on both sides from the US, which for the moment they have, the three of them will manage.
However — the BS in the US (and the UK and France) over Palestine won’t stop, as that is driven by a long standing hatred of Jews, and has almost nothing to do with Israel. Israel/Palestine is just a convenient protesting point.
Peace today means war tomorrow. Israel should have finished the job.
Oh, please give us a break! The sheer Gall of Antony Blinken slithering out from under his rock, in the swamp of irrelevance to claim a sliver of credit for Trump’s Gaza ceasefire deal is almost too absurd to stomach. As it is to much to even think that ANYONE from the failed Biden administration had any success in this Historical Peace, or had even tried!
This is the guy who fumbled through his FAILED tenure as Secretary of State like a drunk toddler in a china shop, leaving a trail of diplomatic disasters from Kabul to Kyiv. And now, this forgettable Clinton-era lackey and now wants a gold star for Trump’s historic peace deal? Spare me. Well take this note! He Ain’t Gonna Get It!
Blinken’s big claim is that Trump “built on” some mythical Biden-era “framework.” Right. Because nothing screams “master plan” like Biden’s Middle East policy a flaming cocktail of appeasing Iran, finger-wagging at Israel, and throwing cash at NGOs too incompetent to negotiate a lunch order. Their January “ceasefire” collapsed faster than Biden’s attention span at a briefing. Yet here comes Blinken, dusting off his resume, whining, “That was our idea!” Pathetic doesn’t even begin to cover it. The only thing that Biden had ever done was to “whisper the word “Don’t”. And that was only during the few hours that he was AWAKE!
Trump didn’t build on Biden’s wreckage—he bulldozed it. The Middle East didn’t need Blinken’s limp handwringing or Biden’s moral mush. It needed strength, clarity, and someone who didn’t apologize for America’s existence. Trump delivered: hostages freed, guns quiet, Arab states at the table. Blinken? He delivered talking points and a masterclass in groveling.
The irony’s so rich it could buy a small country. After four years of Biden-Blinken “diplomacy” setting the region ablaze, the only one who could douse the flames was the man they spent their careers smearing. And now Blinken wants a participation trophy? IT’S Laughable.
This is Tony Blinken: a spineless, ladder-climbing toady whose loyalty to political dynasties dwarfs any shred of competence. A bureaucrat who’d rather kiss up to the Clintons than stand up for America. His “leadership” was a masterclass in hesitation, confusion, and failure—leaving allies distrustful and enemies emboldened.
So, take a bow, Tony. You’ve finally found a way to piggyback on someone else’s triumph. Decades of bumbling, bootlicking, and blending into the wallpaper, and you think you’ve earned a footnote in history. Newsflash: you don’t get credit for a victory you couldn’t even dream of, let alone achieve. Trump made peace happen. You just watched from the sidelines, clutching your talking points like a security blanket.
History will remember who actually delivered and who just pretended to know what they were doing. And just incase your memory is to short, Biden Dropped the Ball very early, as if he didn’t even care about it at all, and it was Donald J. Trump who once again did the hard work and he was the one who succeeded. Yes Donald Trump Won Again
And please! Enough already with that stupid “Trump Was Going after His POLITICAL Enemies!” That NEVER Happened! There wasn’t any need for it. Obama and Biden were total failures. It was Donald J. Trump who made peace happen. Biden created the current wars, Trump ended them. And Donald Trump DESERVED THE NOBLE PEACE PRIZE
WOW!! I am IMPRESSED with Salvatore’s invective! Great rant!
Sadly I’ll be amazed if Hamas can stay quiet for a month.
Regarding the Nobel… they gave it to Yassir Arafat and Hussein Obama. I’d rather receive a shit sammich than that tainted bauble.
The thing is is that Salvatore spams his screeds all over the blogosphere. And they are not always germane to the post he’s commenting to.
I don’t know that he has a blog of his own.
And then I go back to my blog and find the same comment.

Arab nations will still not want to accept the Palestinians into their country, which is why they will finance (and oversee) the daylights out of keeping the them in Gaza and pacifying them. I hope.
Peace? More likely a pause as all sides rest and rearm. Probably the next hostilities will start with a cyber 9/11.
No such luck. Some tried to cross the yellow line this morning and after being warned to stop the IDF had to open fire. They have no interest in peace and will use this interlude to recruit and rearm. In five years or less we will be right back to where we were before
The US nonsense, in my view, is a combination of two factors. One is the subset of the university people who have willingly chosen evil, become savage barbarians, and also become fixed on hating Jews. People who don’t like Columbus Day, people who buy critical theory, people who think that Jefferson impregnated Sally Hemings, and people who think we need to update, or to have updated, methods and course feedback to be more inclusive. The second is foreign money and influence.
The fact of the matter, is that if we can say that whites are not indigenous to north america, we can also say likewise of blacks. Black, white and yellow, they are not indigenous, and academic scholars are in theoretical error if they propose that this means that peace cannot hold and cannot be valid.
If the American domestic peace is valid in this generation, then Oct. 7,2023 was an act of war, and a crime against humanity.
Them foreign devils hate Jews, and hate America, and they have excessively influenced American academia. Scholars can cleave to satisfying the transnationalists, or they can cleave to satisfying what Americans might need to tolerate scholars working in America.
tl;dr, I am absolutely certain that budget cuts are a valid and appropriate remedy for the many wrong doings of government funded ‘scholarship’ in American academia.
Hamas apparently cannot deliver on their side of this peace deal, and has now violated at least two terms, in my vague awareness.

“America’s Troops Come First as Commander in Chief Steps Up During Shutdown to Make Sure They Get Paid”
I predict:
a) Judge Boasberg or other similar activist left-wing judges will claim the President can’t do this (hint: He can and he has) and will try issuing yet another TRO (Temporary Restraining Order), causing yet another smack-down of these leftist turdwhackers by SCOTUS
b) The Democrats will scream blue bloody murder in the House and the Senate, because of course they will. That’s all they’ve got now, lots and lots of impotent screaming.
Yes, much jubilation. But the media are completely ignoring what I think is a burning fuse. Or, to put it in raw numbers, 2000 burning fuses.
“…includes 250 convicted prisoners, many serving life sentences for violent attacks, and approximately 1,700 individuals detained during the war in Gaza.”
Those prisoners, many/most hard core fanatics, who have spent a lot of time in Israeli prison with nothing to do but plot revenge. That number, and what I believe to be their level of desired violent retribution, will surely cause at least several hundred to find their own ways, individually or collectively, to put a large hole in the fabric of “peace.”
All- Thanks! Yes, Sal is ‘interesting’… And I agree, it won’t last… dammit!
In return, the Paleoswinians got a couple of hundred live murderous scum released from jail.
I figure there should have been one released for every live hostage (the released chosen by the Israelis), and no more. This isn’t a peace agreement, it’s an abject surrender. The animals have won.
This is basically a win for Hamas. They relinquish less than 10% of the number they initially took hostage, get a couple thousand prisoners repatriated to replace dead terrorists and now have time to regroup, reorganize and rearm.
We tried to pause Reality while you were out but the remote control didn’t work. So your penalty for the break from Reality is having to play catch-up with the news. Lots has happened since you checked out.
And happy birthday to the US Navy. Nothing of note happened here on base…
Actually, it’s not 250 for the canoe club, the Continental Navy was disbanded, is a mostly accurate word, for 9 or 10 years, depending on which version of history one reads. No Disrespect meant to anyone, I Served for several years, just a historical note.
TB/Dan- Sigh, you’re probably right.
WN- Thanks!
Grog- ‘Technically’ you are correct… But what the hell, why not celebrate, with a round of rum for all! LOL
Agreed, NFO, that has already occurred, chuckling
