Back in the day… Before things got stoopid…
I’ll have you know I got 2 of them! I managed to not get caught…
And it was my turn to cook, since it was ‘chilly’ yesterday, I did a southern favorite.
Shrimp and grits with collard greens and garlic bread. And I forgot to get hold my cousin in time to get actual tasso ham here…grrrr…
But everyone enjoyed it!
Oh yeah, and remember to set your clock back an hour…

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it previously year but my late father spent over 25 years in the Royal Navy (ten as a regular and over fifteen as a reservist). He always termed his good conduct medal “25 year’s undetected crime”. 🙂
“year” should be “here”. Doh!
Love the fact that I slept in a bit, but still get the whole day to do stuff. Thanks for the reminder. Navy flashback. When we were out at sea hey always set the clocks back in the middle of the work day so you had to work an extra hour. They always set the clocks forward in the middle of the night, so you lost an hour of sleep. 🙂
Spent a month in Texas this summer and only once, when I went out for BBQ was collard greens an option. I was quite disappointed cause I love them.
Ah, the good old days of “no pictures, never happened”. Before camera phones existed, the shenanigans we did never were recorded for posterity, evidence before a jury of our peers, or subject of the commanding officers wrath.
GCM: Heh. The, Navy went 94 years, almost a century, before someone found it necessary to have a GCM. Surely the first century sailors weren’t angels?! Or perhaps they were too busy building the service and defending the new country.
Or, more likely, the “problem children” had their problems handled more locally. You know, soap-in-a-sock for first offense, keelhauled for second offense, third time hung from the yard arm. Simpler judiciary system.
The difference between being keelhauled and water skiing? The end of the boat that the road is tied to.
Never got one, being a semi-permanent member of the 1st Sgt’s “voluntary after hours work party”.
Jersey Rules: Not a crime if you didn’t get caught.
All- Yep, times were…different. WN- Thankful there weren’t any cell phones!!!
WSF- Heh…
I do love some grits and collard greens. That looks like real food to me!
I recently received my 3rd online check for $21,850 which I won by doing a super simple and easy job online. IU47 This online business is amazing and the regular acquisitions that come from it are amazing. Online according to the subtleties
