What’s next???

DC, Bondi Beach, Brown University…

A jihadist shot two WV National Guard troopers who were just walking foot patrols because he could in a ‘gun free’ zone. Sadly the young lady died. It was terrorism, plain and simple.

At least 16 dead at Bondi, in a ‘gun free’ zone, in a country that already has very restrictive gun laws. Australia has been ‘afraid’ to confront the whole Islamic set of issues, not wanting to ‘excite’ their muslim population. This is, I think, the THIRD terrorist attack this year. The Aussie government response? Another gun law… Why???

2 dead, 9 or 10 injured at Brown University, another ‘gun free’ zone. And apparently a lightly trained campus police, cameras not connected to any police department, not much if any surveillance of the campus, and slow reaction time. As of last night, the shooter was still apparently in the wind. The only thing we don’t know, yet, is what drove the shooting…

Folks in the know in government estimate there are up to 18,000 ‘military’ aged muslim males, who are known or suspected terrorists, in the USA tonight. How many of them are jihadist? How many are radicalized? How many are already on some LEO ‘radar’, but are not being hauled in or shipped out of America?

All this brings me to my initial question, what’s next? Do we need to not attend any Christmas celebrations? We know that is a sore point with muslims. Do we not get together with our friends, attend Christmas parties, or do we hunker in our houses and go nowhere?

I know the old saw, “Don’t be around stupid people, go stupid places, or do stupid things”, but what does that really mean in this day and age? What does that definition mean now?

I’m old, grumpy, and carry every day. ‘I’ am not willing to go hide in my house, just in case, something might happen, but I’m also very cognizant of where I am, who I’m with, and who is around me. Let’s say pretty much constant Condition Orange. Do we do as the bible says? And if so, which verse???

Matthew Chapter 5

38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Security folks say there are indications of plans by ISIS/Al Qaeda for up to five mass casualty attacks in the US between now and February.

Each of us has to make up our own minds what is important to us, and how we will respond to what is coming…

What’s next??? — 22 Comments

  1. I attended a grand’s Christmas concert earlier this week. Instead of joining the others clamoring for a front row center pew, I opted for a seat on the outer side of a pew near the wall. Nana wasn’t happy, but that was our compromise.

I don’t carry in church, but do pack two switchblades – silly against an AK I know but I would try anyway. The church had 4 armed cops on duty as well.

Very sad times to even have to think such.

  2. Yes. The foreign invasion will reap some known consequences. The ‘Fight Them Over There Before They Come Here’ advice was forgotten by past administrations and now we are seeing Western Europe violence.

Head on a swivel and mind your Ps and Qs.

  3. The only solution to Islam and Muslims in the USA is for the Supreme Court and the Federal Government to indicate that at no place in the country Sharia Law can be a law, as US Constitutional Law is the only law of the land. This would make Islam invalid in this country and Muslims would need to change how the act or leave. The government at all levels could then put in various laws to go after Muslims if they break law.

  4. Are all muslims easily radicalized? No.

But here’s the thing. If I have a jar with 1000 M&M’s in it, and rubbed 3 on my ass and then mixed them in the jar…
How many out of that jar of M&M’s are you gonna eat?

You don’t know which muslim is gonna get radicalized. It might be the nice guy who lived down the street that was a decent neighbor 3 months ago but is now an infidel-hating radical this week…

The Allah Ackbahr thing is real. And it happens to a significant percentage of muslims.
    Don’t let a snake into your home….

    • You may not understand that all Muslims are not radicalized but the ones that are not support the ones that are. The non-radicalized ones give money, house, and other support to the ones that do the attacks.

  5. Hey Old NFO;

The uncomfortable truth is that most in the government are afraid of “offending” them, and the islamist know it, why do you see the outdoor prayers in front of churches, or in the streets and other public places. They don’t do this crap in the middle east, but only in the west, it is a power play and the people in the west are so cowed, so afraid to not offend that we will surrender our birth-rite, our lands to these 7th century barbarians rather than be called “racist”. this is what several generations of progressivism has done to our society. I am at the autumn of my life, but my son will have to deal with this circus and I don’t think most of society has “the stones” to do what is necessary to deport the disruptive elements.

    • A show of domination and mockery of the conquered is a hallmark of islam.

      • And that’s what made ‘Everybody Draw Mohammed Day’ *so* delicious and necessary. I’ve seen my religion mocked on all fronts by Hollywood and Big Arts (‘Piss Christ’ anyone?) and told I needed to buck up and be tolerant. Do you remember the joke that ends with “… and Thursday is your turn in the barrel[?]” That is *exactly* what how Islam needs to be treated in the West. Remember Charlie Hebdo.

  6. A radicalized muslim says, I will kill you.
A moderate muslim says, pointing to the radical, He will kill you.

This comports to the Western understanding of islam.
The muslim say there is no moderate muslim.
A muslim will deceive you in every which way possible. I say this based on personal experience plus what muslims and former muslims converted to Christ have told me.

Of Matthew, the verse 38 is the penalty should match the crime. It is Jesus limiting the vengeful to not seeking outlandish penalty.

v39 is not to seek vengence beyond the injury. Do not carry a grudge, do not seek restitution which may be so great as to cause am injury greater than the first.

As these versus are both said by Jesus, follow one after the other, recorded by the same witness, bound in the same book, one can and must align themself with both.

  7. That “turn the other cheek” refers to a weak hand insult slap, not a punch.
“Sell your robe and buy a sword” is a command from Jesus in Luke 22:36

    • Right on the money, Ed. Well said. Insults don’t kill. Strength protects the weak. It doesn’t prey on them.

    • I don’t have the option of coming back in three days to continue protecting my family. When you swing at me, expect retaliation.

  8. Random observations:

We live in Metro Chicago, and deal with that mess daily. I worked just off of the Gold Coast for 15 years. Today, travel into the City of Chicago is just plain out. Doesn’t happen. I have friends who still go. We do not.

I carry every day, everywhere, every time I leave my small North suburban property. I get range time every weekend. Despite being in a so-called desirable neighborhood, we’ve had at least one set of “shots fired” down the road and one murder (maybe two) in the parking lot of the local swanky mall. Probably gang stuff.

How safe are we? I suspect we can’t really know. Eventually something will probably happen at a local school, church, synagogue or public venue. We’ve already had the July 4 Highland Park shooting.

Back here on my doorstep, I have Muslim neighbors who appear friendly and I have Muslim neighbors who visibly do not. Is that meaningful? Am I “racist”? Most of the rest of my neighbors are deep, deep, blue. I’m guarded in what I say around them. Ideology is important in our neighborhood; we lost one whole set of friends over Covid.

Who do I trust in this crazy environment?

    • My Swedish mother was raised in Carol Stream. Kin lived in Schamburg, Elgin, and that area. They used to be nice neighborhoods.
In 1980 I spent time visting the few kin still in that area. Most family had already left. Those few left in 1980 moved out a few years later.

Those who had moved down state are fine. Those who moved to Michigan – South Haven, Flint, and such soon moved again. It was always the behaviors of certain ethnicities which were the cause.

Leaving the familar neighborhood, folks you grew up with, your family home filled with treasured memories is rough. As if fleeing before an enemy. In fact, it was the same that dad’s family did in the 1920s before the bolshiveks.

We’re not at war. Are we at war?
Anyway, you don’t have to live like that. Until enough people say, No, not one more inch, in time we will lose everything.

      • Agreed. It’s family keeping us here, my wife’s kids.

I grew up north of the state line and even though I’ve lived here for 20+ years now, the well-conditioned behavior of natives still catches me off guard. We have grifters, their “base,” true believers and passive “citizens.” Too many people have learned to “game the system” and found it easier to go along than to make change. Corruption has that effect.

  9. Carry everywhere you legally can, with at least 1 reload. Have an IFAK kit always. Keep your head on a swivel, and one eye on your 6.

In the Middle East, even in the time of Jesus, a slap was an insult not an assault. So Jesus was telling us to ignore insults and provocations. In John, he warned the disciples that they’d no longer be under his protection and that any who weren’t already armed to arm themselves, even if it meant selling their cloak.

  10. I listen to Aaron Cohen who seems among the few who faces reality head on. He talks extensively about social media being 5th generation warfare and how to fight it.

We are in for a few years of mass violence. I’m with you, Condition Orange, and will continue to live my life as I please.

  11. All- Thank you for the comments, and I see y’all are as ‘aware’ as I am. And yes, Luke 22:36 is the other answer…

  12. And now a MIT nuclear physicist murdered at his apartment. Iran payback?
There’s an Israeli news source reporting that Israel is investigating this one as well. Curious….

  13. if society indeed breaks down as many think is inevitable, there will be many factions. But 2 distinct sides will likely be Islam vs everyone else. Hopefully this will not come to pass. Meanwhile, buy ammo and do your area study.
