Happy New Year ! Breakfast will be pork tamales (last remnants of Christmas meal) and bunuelos for dessert. We don’t often have dessert with breakfast.
Hoppin John, check. Greens, check. (Oddly enough, the Big Store was out of all but house brand canned beans. Frozen, dried, all gone. Collards, however, they had aplenty. Hmmmm.) BBQ – very check!

Happy New Year! My grandmother-in-law made ham with kraut and potatoes, venison, baked beans, and rye bread with butter. Then she plied us with homemade desserts. She even makes fruitcake (in the form of mini cupcakes) that is edible. I feel stuffed.
Hope this new year brings you health and prosperity.
