But…the battery is mostly flat…
My ass is dragging! Great con, but I’m tired.
I’ll try to get an AAR up tomorrow night.
I ‘think’ most folks are either home or close, but I do want to thank those who were worried about the folks travelling! I’m too old to do a 14 hour driving day, but I ‘can’ do a four hour ‘flying’ day.
A TSA reminder for folks, make sure you wear an ‘airport’ belt that will let you get through security without having to take your belt off, especially if you have pants that are a ‘tad’ large… sigh…
At least I caught them before I ’embarrassed’ myself…
Grumble…
Reminds me of a moment in early 2002 (4 months after 9/11). Airlines had their own staff running the security screenings, and the National Guard had been deployed to the airports to provide additional watchful eyes and response if trouble happened. Some of them were attending at the security screening lines.
It’s my turn in line to take off my boots, empty my pockets and put my belongings in the basket for x-ray scanning. The lady at my security station tells me to also take off my belt and put it in the basket. (At the time, this was a new change. Up till then, they usually just wanded you to confirm it was just your belt buckle setting off the x-ray machine.)
I say, “Okay, but I got up so early, I can’t remember if I put on underwear this morning or if I’m going ‘commando’. You might get a free show.”
The Guardsman behind me behind lets out a very audible *SNRK* (I think he appreciated the break from the boredom.)
Hey Old NFO.
Welcome back!!!
Remember it ain’t gay if it’s TSA…
Try a velcro pack belt from Hill People Gear or something similar. I use mine when I have to go someplace that metal detectors will be in use, or when I am driving on long road trips, since no buckle.
Glad you made it home safely and in one piece.
I wish to hank you to those who suggested a certain restaurant However, after a friend had an Antisemitic encounter there with management at that restaurant , I prefer not to patronize that establishment. Other suggestions are more than appreciated.
Also I do not wish to patronize any restaurant that continues to charge for the use of my Credit Card to pay their fees with. Those days are long past and very few establishments are still doing that Con Job. I think that they have been charging more that enough by raising their prices of drinks every couple of weeks.
I’m taking a day off before going back to work, hoping it’ll help recharge the battery. Here’s hoping you get a restful, relaxing day as well!
Get some needed rest folks – you earned it.
I’m a suspender guy and have a pair of “no buzz” suspenders. Now, unless it is critical, I drive. I loath the whole terminal experience.
Good that you are safely home.
For long drives I like the trucker style suspenders that clip to your pants at 3 and 9 o’clock or a little behind. Those fat plastic clips on the usual type dug into my lower back and I never took the trouble to have buttons sewn in to the waistband.
Ag- sigh… yep!
Bob- Yeah, yeah…
Ryoushin- Thanks, looking into it!
Tom- Thanks!
Yvette- Huh, I didn’t hear about that, I’m sorry.
Dot- Agreed!
jrg- We ‘survived’ it… LOL
WSF- Interesting idea… thanks!
