Tropical Storm Bertha is causing impacts along the northern Gulf as coastal communities in parts of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana brace for strong wind gusts, heavy rain and coastal flooding.
Bertha formed Monday in the northeastern Gulf, becoming the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
The storm has turned westward, and tropical storm conditions are spreading over portions of the Florida panhandle, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

As you can see below, Bertha’s track has been anything but stable. And it is unusual for one to continue this far west without turning north…
This thing has turned around twice, pointed in multiple directions, and the computer tracks… well, this is one of the ‘better’ sets of predictions…
The only real ‘advantage’ to the westward direction, is that the strongest rain bands are out over the Gulf and will probably stay there unless it takes the HAFS-B or HWRF tracks. There will still be a good amount of rain, and some storm surge, but not as bad as it ‘could’ be. But Texas and Louisiana have already had major rain events in the last week or so, and there is really no where for the water to go.
So if you are anywhere near the path, keep an eye on the weather, and be ready to head to high ground!

Yope y’all stey OK up there in central Texas. The problem with your weather is that once it gets good and hammered…..it heads east and frolics in my backyard….Just saying.
No where to go? Are you kidding? Most of the reservoirs in south Texas are only at thirty percent full. AFTER the rains of last week. Lake Medina was down to seven percent before the rains. Last I checked it was only 15 percent full. We can still use every drop. The problem we have is too many people. Back in “my day” with 3 million people we had plenty of water. Now?

Lets Compare Barron to his siblings. Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, Tiffany, or even Lara. All of them do interviews, podcasts, convention speeches, cable hits. But Barron seems to skip his own father’s joint address to Congress in March 2025 entirely, the only member of the family not to show. He turned down a chance to serve as an at-large delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention. He went nearly a full year, from the January 2025 ublic appearance alongside his father Donald.
This my no means is shyness. It may be shyness by design, and somebody else is designing it. The question is why?
