Now a ‘hunch’ is probable cause…

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — U.S. border agents should continue to be allowed to search a traveler’s laptop, cellphone or other electronic device and keep copies of any data on them based on no more than a hunch, according to an internal Homeland Security Department study.

And it’s apparent Michelle does NOT handle anybody questioning her well…

Even more amazing, it was covered by CNN!!!

One more… The whole Tom Donilon is resigning and will be replaced by Susan Rice thing is interesting… So does this mean Donilon can’t be called to testify on Benghazi?  And is replacing him with Rice a slap in the face to the Pubs for refusing to confirm her for SECSTATE???

Personally, I think so…

  1. Only in government can you fail upward. Well, that and academia. But they’re practically indistinguishable, operating in an unaccountable environment as they do.

  2. I think it’s all part of the “grand dance” to keep the balls in the air until 2014. God help us if they win the House . . . . As for Susan Rice – I think this takes her out of the congressional questioning loop – she’s part of the Executive Branch now.

As for the laptop stuff – that’s precicely why I keep everything on an on-line drive – nothing stays or is put on my laptop. Nothing to hide, but there’s nothing they need to see either . . .

    Starting to make 1984 looks like a utopia . . . .

  3. A) Rice as Nat.Sec. Adv.? Talk about keeping your Enemies close and your Friends closer….Of course, the No Senate Confirmation Needed clause is a good thing also.

    B) But go check out who Maobama wants to replace her with!

  4. From a Constitutional perspective, there are no Fourth Amendment rights in a Border Search. Which means that if you want to protect what you have, you need to encrypt it, or go old school and simply keep it in your head.

Bill (above) hinted at something that’s been around for a long time. I think that I’ll cover it in a blog posting. Essentially you have no drive in your computer. Everything is in RAM with a hard (non-writable chip) to access the Internet. They used to be called data havens.

  5. Thank you for the link about the TSA, I’ve been doing a BUNCH of posts and a show on the 4th Am abuses of the current Admin. I’m beginning to think maybe there should be some Conspiracy Charges filed 🙂

  6. When I traveled overseas I took a work laptop with no personal email or data. It had only the basic ITAR approved information and MS programs. I always assume somebody is going to snoop.

I know they probably have tracked the cell phone conversations from overseas.

  7. Those who know where the bodies are buried will rise. Particularly if it removes them from questioning.

  8. Mark- You’re welcome.

    Gerry- Understood and agreed!

    Guffaw- Agreed!

PH- True, and now Rice has executive privilege now…

  9. Neither of the Obooboo’s like to be interrupted during a speech and neither have the class to handle it correctly.

I also think thatObooboo promoted Rice to the position in the inner circle so she could claim executive privilege on what she knows about Benghazi. But will that take affect from the hire date? Will she have to talk on things before the promotion? The lawyers will fight that one out.

  10. Not an admirer of Michelle. In this one instant, I admire her leaving the podium and getting into the hecklers face. Admire spunk, wherever it occurs.

  11. CP- Agreed!

WSF- But she ONLY did it from a ‘position of power’ and was VERY childish (to me)…
