Depends on when you’re down there. Most of the time, San Diego has “The Best Weather In The CONUS”, according to their tourist bureau. Go see the Midway and the Air&Space Museum, and enjoy what you can…. Otherwise people will start to think you’re an Olde Farte like me! 🙂

Weather this year is crazy, everywhere.
August is primo weather in San Diego. As long as you stay on the seaward side of the mountains. Just the other side is a furnace.
Could be worse, I suppose, but it’s tough when you’re stuck someplace you didn’t want to be in the first place.
They lied about San Diego?
Ask any SEAL about that.

P.S. You have to be one of the first squids I’ve ever known to grumble about San Diego. Marines, yes, but Navy jocks?
Spent a weekend there once for a business meeting. In summer. It rained, upended bucket heavy rain, the entire time from when I stepped off the plane until I stepped back on one to leave. A gate attendent held an umbrella to shelter us when we stepped from the boarding tube into the airliner. When we took off the sun was shining and the pools of rain water was steaming.
It was a PLOT! I tell ya!
My brother and his wife live in Coronado. Coronado isn’t reality. Their days pass mostly in the 70s.
I submit you may have entered an Alternate San Diego Universe.
And drjim has it right: go see the museum. Check out the SR-71 out front!
