Back…

Daughter’s surgery went well, Labrium was pretty much torn free of the hip joint, chips in socket, and tendon needed repair.

All done via Ortho, a tad over two hours.  No major problems, and she’s got a video of it.  They had to put a plastic screw into the hip joint to re-attach the labrium and stitches that look like tie wraps 🙂

(She WILL get kidded about that)

Got her home and resting (not necessarily comfortably), but resting…

Next couple of days will be the real issue, worry about infection and fever, and being able to mitigate the pain correctly.  Thanks for the thoughts and prayers…

  1. And I thought I had it bad in the pain department! I wish well, and I will raise a glass to a speedy recovery.

  2. It’s amazing what can be done surgically these days to make our lives more enjoyable and livable. You and your daughter are in my prayers for a swift and sweet recovery. I can so appreciate what she’s going through, having had multiple bilateral total hip replacements myself, beginning at the age of nineteen years old. May your daughter’s surgery and recovery be a total and complete success!

  3. Thanks all, will pass the good wishes along to her, and NO the dog stays… I’m gone to much to be able to actually have a dog of any size where I live… I just get to ‘enjoy’ the pup when I visit.

  4. Thoughts and prayers for your daughter.

Hope she takes advantage to manipulate Pop as much as possible while he’s there. 🙂

  5. I’ll add my good wishes for your daughter’s recovery to those of everyone else. May she be back to 100% ASAP and wrapping you around her little finger, where dads belong…;)
