Tragedy…

Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the theater shooting in Aurora, CO.  But I can’t help but wonder about the ‘security’ provided to the theater. I think we will be hearing much more about this, and sadly VPC/Brady/others will once again dance in the blood of the victims.

Tragedy… — 16 Comments

  1. From the article:

“The UN treaty will save us,” comments Michael Rozycki.

No dumbass – the UN treaty will make you victims of assholes like this.

I put up a post about this just to releave some of my own frustrations . . . .

  2. The scary thing is that it was so well planned – kevlar vest, gas mask, tear gas. Even an armed citizen would probably have been helpless.

  3. You know, maybe I’m just in an asshole mood this morning but I am sick and tired of feeling sorry for people who see example after example after example that there are people who will hurt you for no good reason and yet still make no effort to protect themselves or their loved ones. Every adult in that theater who was legally able to carry could have been, but chose not too. If it’s a no carry business, every person who walked in their made the decision to do so knowing what they were risking.

  4. All three previous comments are correct.

But had there been sheep dogs armed in there instead of sheeple, we would have had a different outcome regardless of the vest.

  5. eia- Yeah, right…

PH- Nope, headshots; just sayin… THAT is why you practice accuracy.

Robert- Good point! And it’s the, “Oh, THAT will never happen to me!” mentality.

    Matt- Concur!

  6. Someone is off their meds here is my guess!

A couple of well placed body shots would have slowed him down a bit. Kevlar stops you from dieing, but a couple shots in the belly sure hurts like hell.
Then while he is down gasping for breath, head-shot finisher as you move forward.

My sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

  7. An article I read said that chain of theaters (AMC?) posts all their theaters as NO GUNS ALLOWED.

  8. Crucis- I think you’re right… I haven’t patronized them in years though… Too @$(#@ expensive!

  9. Several people have emailed me as to why I didn’t post about it.

Brigid Jr, grew up with her adoptive parents near Littletown Colorado. She was a high school student when “that” happened.

It was an open adoption. I knew where she lived and likely where she went to school.

I don’t care to relive that day of hell ever again. I knew where she was, but part of the adoption agreement was I wouldn’t contact them, she would contact me when she turned 18 and they gave her my information. That was our arrangement, one that was the best for her to grow up secure, not torn between two sets of “parents”, as I was not her parent, THEY were.

But hearing the news and not know she was alive or dead was something no one should ever have to live with.

There is a reason she owns a firearm for self defense and supports concealed carry, as do I. But it’s too personal to post about.

  10. I wait until it comes out on DVD.

That way, I don’t spend money on a clunker, and I know who is and isn’t armed in my living room.
