Just a heads up…

I’ve pretty much lost faith in anybody in this cluster f**k actually being willing to come to the table and avert either the fiscal cliff OR the tax hikes, much less Sequestration, or the implementation of Obamacare.

And I’m not sure what is going to happen after we run off that cliff…

I got an interesting email tonight pointing to a couple of ‘items’ for persual.

Anybody ever seen this?

It  was developed by Matt Bracken and the description can be found at the WRSA blog HERE, and if that name sounds familar, well he wrote Enemies Foreign And Domestic, Domestic Enemies – The Reconquista, and Foreign Enemies And Traitors.

Then go read When The Music Stops, also by Matt Bracken, and also at the WRSA blog HERE

I truly hope we’re not going down this path, but it seems to edge closer and closer to reality every day.  And I DO remember those riots back in the 60’s and 70’s and thankfully was no where near them.  The points Matt raises ARE valid and they are playing out now if you follow the news about the middle east and other ‘hot spots’… Mass media has obviated any advantages the LEOs have…

Not trying to be the bearer of bad tidings, but forwarned is forarmed…

  1. I’ve watched in wonder at a President with so little regard for the nation he leads. How have we come to this? I remember being in Detroit the day it exploded. Let’s just call it was an “interesting” ride out of the town. Now 46 years later and it feels like we’re about to go down the same road once again. What are these folks going to do when the gravey train stops?? Scares the crap outta me . . . . It is not going to end well.

  2. My concern is that it won’t even take a full cut off of benefits, just a stutter. Flash mobs with full bellies already raid places convenience stores just because they can. And with everybody on their “Everybody has their own truth” kick these days a lot more people believe the truth is that they deserve whatever they can take.

  3. Very real possibility. Anyone remember the lines at the gas stations the evening of 9/11?

    Recent events; Staten Island.

Oh well, a country boy will survive.

  4. Jim, that wasn’t an opposing viewpoint of the reaction to the cutoff of benefits. It was a diatribe calling all non-liberals morons. Notwithstanding your different political believes, wouldn’t you agree that this scenario will lead to awful events?

  5. Everyone has a right to their opinion – and to their vote. However, taking personal responsibility for yourself and those you love trumps politics. Better to be trained than untrained. Better to have and not need than need and not have.

And let the world do what the world does.

  6. MB: No, I cannot agree that willful stupidity is the path to solving the problems of the country. It’s been 62 years since I took an oath to defend my country and its constitution but I consider it valid today to point out where absurdity exists. It’s called dialog and it began with Socrates. Might look him up sometime. I think google or wikipedia might help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socratic_method

  7. NFO, have you ever read the stories and comments on zero hedge?

    http://www.zerohedge.com/

Williambanzai7 posts some excellent satire pictures, Tyler usually has excellent analysis of the world financial happenings.

If the stories posted there are only 50% accurate, the economy is already over the cliff, and hitting the rocks will happen soon.

  8. BWAHAHA, I read Bracken’s Essay on it last night. I picked up a pile of stuff from Bracken on amazon for 99 cents.

  9. When you have a President elected not by consent of the people but dissent of the people it brings to mind the old saw about all problems being a nail when your sole tool is a hammer.
You really don’t want to know what I expect out of the next 4 years in furtherance of the glorious reign, but I assure you that the tranquility of the nation is no part of it

  10. I’ve seen Sarajevo after years of that kind of thing, and I pray I never see it again. That being said, the neighborhoods in LA and New Orleans that took care of themselves did better than the ones that waited for the police and the government to bring the security and food.

  11. That’s an interesting read. Sure glad I’m in Virginia. When the large urban rioting happens, those upscale neighborhoods in DC and Maryland are gonna be targeted for “payback”. Just sayin’.

  12. WSF- Good points!

Jim P- I don’t know why you seem to be hung up on the racial thing, since NOTHING in either post you’ve commented on is about racism… And you keep throwing out strawmen that have NOTHING to do with the discussions at hand. And your side is as bat nuts as any other side… I’m not looking at the world through rose colored glasses… There IS trouble coming, black/white, rich/poor, urban/rural, it’s coming if this country doesn’t get back on track. This is just one possible (and based on reality) scenario.

    Keads- You’re welcome!

    MB- Thanks!

    LL- Well said!

Jim P- You can ONLY have dialog if both sides are willing, and neither is willing to seriously HAVE such a dialog, neither the Pubs nor the Dems…

Grog- Haven’t but will go look, thanks!

    MM- Figures 😛

    FD- Yep

    DB- Excellent point

    Andy- Concur!

  13. PH- Yep, but 1st Amendment IS still viable… I just choose NOT to engage in a pissing contest.
