The ‘real’ NY agenda???

From the Commentator…

NY Democrat pleads with Republican not to share document…

The State of New York this week passed some of the strictest gun control laws in the United States, effectively outlawing ‘assault weapons’ and limiting the size of magazines.

But if Republican Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin is to be believed, the New York State Democrats would have gone further if they could have. Much, much further.

/snip/

The List…

1. Confiscation of “assault weapons”
2. Confiscation of ten round clips
3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder’s information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as “assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons

Any doubt this is also the administration’s REAL agenda???

Not in my mind…

And those EOs that are going to be signed?  I want to see them in the Federal Register and read them line by line, word for word to see what they REALLY say…

The ‘real’ NY agenda??? — 12 Comments

  1. They need to repeal the Bill of Rights to complete their agenda. Most Americans don’t want to leap from that tall building despite the agenda of the radical left.

Obama and his toadies know that. They’ll push for incremental change instead.

  2. You forgot the link.

Now, I have to say that as best I can tell (and I’m not a lawyer) none of that appears in the copy of the act either before, or after, the Senete voted yes on it. Having said that I’ve not gone further than the documentation thats provided on the state site for the act. So god only knows how much that means….

  3. If the voters in New York let this stand, they deserve what they get. The RED v. BLUE division continues to grow. Now Texas is inviting NY gun owners to immigrate to Texas.

I’m trying hard to think why we, the rest of the country needs New York. They’ve eliminated any relevance to anything anymore.

  4. I take that back, the new law does require relicensing every 5 years if I’m reading it right….

  5. Stephen- Yep…

LL- You are correct as always sir.

    Ruth- sorry, fixed now…

    Crucis- Good point!

Ruth- You are correct, but who knows what those ‘requirements’ will morph to…

  6. I didn’t say I was happy about it….I do have a link out to the copy of the act that the NY Senete voted on on my blog if anyone wants….

  7. Ruth- Thanks! And concur on the not happy…

    WSF- Yep!

Ed- Yep, I wondered if anyone would notice 🙂

  8. You noticed the big word…Seized and Confiscated…Funny, who they gonna send to do the actual work..Oh yeah..the average police man..after a few of them get ventilated, the rest of them will not be so energetic. It will be an unenforceable law, that will be used as “addons” to other charges to really shank you or to force you to plead out and roll over on other people.
