This one came over the transom last night from an old shipmate…
And it goes out to all those ‘veterans’ of Cubi/Subic Bay…
I apologize to those who don’t understand the lyrics; but if you weren’t there, it’s kinda hard to describe! Β And would probably get you in trouble if you did…Β
Ah, memories… Β π

Never got to Subic Bay but spent some TDY time at Clark. Interesting country . . . .
eia- That it was/is… π
Memories indeed. And, yes, I understood.
Get in trouble??? ME??? Who told ya? Has the statute of limitations run out yet?
It’s not just Subic – it’s “Po City”.
Noone who has been there didn’t understand the words (and the sentiment). Anyone who hasn’t wouldn’t believe it if they did.
And I’m with LL. Magsaysay Street was much more fun. And CP, as long as you don’t run into her “brother” in an alley you’re fine. No statute of limitation.
Stephen- π
CP- LOL… Depends…
LL- That too!
Don- I liked Gordon Alley better π
Should send that to Linoge!
NC- He’s not old enough… LOL
Heard it many times in Olongapo and the bands that were imported to MCAS Iwakuni.
Went there first in 1976, last time as a formerly active duty Marine in 2010. Got a little chunka land in Barretto, just waitng for the day I can pull the Pin.

Man, my time there was so tame. I remember crossing over Sh.t River hearing “Hey, Joe, you throw, I show”. One of my wastrel shipmates informed me it was money wasted so I kept my pesos. Gawd, I was a boring sailor.
I like it when individuals get together and share opinions.
Great blog, keep it up!
