Just as an OBTW, the defense councils for all those rape trial defendants are loving it; because as Commander in Chief (spit), those statements qualify as command influence, so most of the cases will probably be dismissed/verdicts vacated on appeal… Just lovely…

I do not understand the part about rape trial defendants and command influence and dismissed cases, etc. Straight money, this is a brand new one for me.

Mad Jack- The issue with military trials is in the ‘perception’ of command influence by anyone higher in the chain of command trying to make a verdict go one way or the other. That is why there is basically (and always has been), effectively a gag order on CO’s on up to JCS and the White House against commenting on ANY UCMJ processes while they are underway. Any comments made could be considered that dreaded “Command Influence”… When BO came out and said what he did, that was blatant command influence by trying to shape the decisions/verdicts. Hence, the probability of all of them getting overturned or not even prosecuted…
Darn that nasty Republican war that Filner, Spitzer, Wiener, Bubba, etc., are waging on women! Oh. Wait.
One can only marvel at Carney and wonder what his thoughts on the Beer Summit might have been.
