Cops in D.C. Are Under Orders to Arrest Tourists with Empty Bullet Casings
The gun control crazies in Washington D.C. are really cracking down on tourists. Not terrorists, but tourists. According to the Washington Examiner the police in Washington are under new orders to arrest any tourists or out-of-towners who are in possession of spent bullet or shotgun casings.Apparently even spent bullet casings are considered ammunition and carry a $1,000 fine, a year in jail, and a criminal record. These casing are illegal to possess in the district unless you are a resident of D.C. and have a gun registration certificate (which takes a TON of red tape to get).
The Examiner says that a tourists could easily unknowingly get in trouble with the law after a routine traffic stop.
This is beginning to sound like Australia… So if you go to the range and get ONE spent .22 case stuck in your waffle shoes and bring it back to the car… Really???
How about Congress passes a law forcing DC to recognize any CCW permit from any state? Attach it as a rider in budget negotiations.
DC is a creature of Congress.
Just one more reason never to go there.
Simply confirms there is one more place I never need visit. I can’t believe that this won’t get chucked out of court the first time it’s challenged . . . but it’s beyond stupid it even needs to get to that point. Of course, Maryland (or was it New Jersey) just added air rifles to banned weapons . . . so it appears there’s plenty of stupid to go around.

When the kids asked if they could visit Washington and go to the Smithsonian. Senior says not while Obama is in office.. I would not go anyways because of their entire view on guns and ammo.
I would love to take our boys to NYC and visit ground zero…but again, I won’t because of their ignorant gun laws…
Do an update to this entry. I’m wondering how many of the 2 million bikers riding on DC (w/o permit) are being searched and held for casings??? YOU KNOW there’s about 2 Mil “packing”! BWAHAHAHA
