I quick follow-up post from Blogorado…
I finally got back on my 22-250 after Speer had rebarreled it with a Douglas Air Gauged varmint barrel and he and Stingray had sighted it in…
It took about four rounds to ‘correct’ to my sight picture and being 3000 feet lower in altitude and sighted at 250 vs. 100 yards; and boy is it a truly sweet AND accurate shooter now… Kudos guys!!!
And I got a chance to play with a SCAR 16 (thanks Jason and Thot for the ammo)…
Quite a bit of difference… Had to get the stock out where I could shoot the SCAR, but it’s a point and click… 4MOA red dot aimpoint, with about a 4x magnifer (Jason correct me if I’m wrong). Easy peasy at 250 yards, had to blow em in at 500, but again easy hits once the ‘hold’ was figured out…
Of course I had to let my ego get the better of me and try to blow them in at 750 with the 22-250 until I was ‘gently’ reminded by Tam that the 55gr round didn’t have the ass to get out that far… Sigh…
And then there was Pedi’s new custom rifle from Wally…
Gotta love the custom engraving and switch codes 🙂
And for somebody that ‘claimed’ she’d never shot 500 yards, once we walked her onto the target, she was dinging the steel routinely at 500 yards!!!
HERE is her original post on the new rifle…
And no, I don’t have any pics of any steels or targets, too busy RO’ing or shooting…
For what ever reason, this file refuses to load correctly, but the two hits from 750 are mine and Matt G’s. His is the body shot, and mine is well… a ‘tad’ lower… 🙂
Looks to me like your ” Navy Heartshot ” pic loaded fine NFO . Not bad shooting from 750 there LOL . Glad you could make it for a couple of days anyway this year and Hope to see you back again soon .
Looks like some fun stuff!
Jealous. Love the engraving.
The Aimpoint 3X magnifier is in a Samson flip to side mount. Sure makes those longer shots easier to see. Yet it gets out of the way quickly if you need to shoot fast in close.
FD- Honestly that was 2 feet lower than I was trying to blow it in… And planning on next year!
Rev- It was!
Ed- Wally does QUALITY work!
Jason- Thanks!
Looks like fun!
Sweet … and so glad you got to get some relax and range time in 🙂
Truly, I’ve never before shot further than 200 yards, and that was only once. I’ve shot out a couple of times to 100 yards, but the first time I picked a rifle up was barely 18 months ago.
Good teachers all along. 😀
Goes to show, there just aren’t any bad days on the range with friends and ammunition, automatic sharing of everything.
