WTF???

Another school shooting, this time the perp appears to be a THIRTEEN year old…

Family members later identified the staff member who was killed as math teacher Michael Landsberry, 45. The suspected gunman was also dead, and authorities say no shots were fired by law enforcement. Washoe County Emergency Manager Aaron Kenneston told Reuters that the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Full article HERE.

I just do NOT understand what is going on out there, where a 13 year old brings a gun to school and shoots a teacher, or anybody else for that matter…  Thoughts and prayers for the family of Mr. Landsberry, he stepped up and gave his life to protect others.

Copycat?  Who knows… But you can bet it will be a cold day in hell before we hear the entire story…

Holder (spit) apparently came out and was dancing in the blood of the victims this afternoon, proclaiming that mass shootings were up 150% in the last few years…

I’m guessing the administration is not even bothering to find out basic information before they jump out there with the anti-gun rhetoric…

And we’ve got three more years of this???  Sigh…

  1. Rick- I fear so… My oldest grandson is 13… I cannot envision anyone of that age doing something like that…

  2. “Copycat? Who knows… But you can bet it will be a cold day in hell before we hear the entire story…”

You are spot on with that observation.

Hits home; I have a nephew attending a Reno Middle School.

  3. WSF- Yeah, I have some friends that LEOs up in that area. I’ll poke them in a week or two…

  4. local info is latino gang crap.

“Reno is so close to hell, you can see Sparks”

  5. I’m no psychologist or psychiatrist, and I don’t want to oversimplify the problems, but it seems to me pretty obvious what’s going on and it’s been generations in the making.

For generations, society (via the media, hollywood, pop culture, etc) has been teaching kids not to do what’s right, to work hard and plan for the future and fight for what they believe in etc…they’ve been taught to do what feels good; that as long as you don’t get caught, anything goes; that it’s better to take the easy way than the right way; that nothing is worth fighting and risking harm for; that they are “special” and “gifted” and deserve “entitlements”.

The value of the traditional family unit has fallen apart and even in families that stay together, often both parents work, leaving the kids fending for themselves for much of their childhood. Parenthood itself has become viewed as a burden more than a joy and as a drain on current society rather than the seeds of the future.

Kids are being more and more treated with “kid gloves”. We can’t have competitive sports because losing makes them feel bad, we can’t have failing grades because it may damage their self esteem. There are no wrong answers because telling them they’re wrong may damage their tender sensibilities.

Then, when they get to the age that life starts showing them that they aren’t really “special” or “gifted” and that they can sometimes fail…that they aren’t always going to be the most popular kid on the block, and they aren’t always going to get everything they want – they don’t have a clue how to handle it.

And they don’t have a stable home life, with at least one “present” parent to help guide them through it.

It’s not a wonder that kids in this society sometimes crack, it’s a wonder that it doesn’t happen every week. It’s a testament to the efforts of some parents to raise their kids right in spite of a society that fights them at every turn that ANY of our kids grow into healthy, happy adults rather than popping off one by one like a pan of Orville Redenbacher’s best.

  6. Rick- See Joe’s answer below

Joe- Thanks, I was afraid of that… Now appears the kid was 12, not 13…

Curt- Well said sir, and sadly true…

  7. “Holder … proclaiming that mass shootings were up 150% in the last few years…”
Does he mean since Obama was elected?
