Isn’t THIS special???

Seems that no one knows how many have actually signed up for obummercare…  Delaware apparently has ONE that has actually signed up, and now this from BCBS in ND…

The Obama administration asked North Dakota’s largest health insurer not to publicize how many people have signed up for health insurance through a new online exchange, a company official says.

/snip/

Still, a spokeswoman from Blue Cross Blue Shield says about 14 North Dakotans have signed up for coverage since the federal exchange went live Oct. 1. That brings total statewide enrollment to 20 – less than one a day.

So that’s 21 that we know of…

On the other hand, companies are dumping policies like crazy because they “don’t comply” with the new rules…

Among the insurance companies terminating policies are Kaiser Permanente in California, which sent notices to 160,000 policy holders; Highmark Pittsburgh, which dropped 20% of its individual market customers; and Independence Blue Cross, a major insurer in Philadelphia, eliminating 45% of its individual policies, Kaiser reports. The biggest hit comes in Florida, where insurer Florida Blue has dropped 300,000 policies.

SOOooo, where is all the coverage of this???

And doing the math, I’d say it’s a losing proposition… Just sayin…

  1. And, meanwhile, I’m reading about the upcoming enrollment period for benefits from my employer. Seems that costs are rising because of new fees imposed by Obamacare.

A direct quote: “For 2014, medical plan contributions are increasing as a result of the Act.”

    Thanks a lot.

  2. Sorry for the long comment, but did you see this. Bravo Neal:
Obama is blaming Fox News for 2/3 of the country disliking Obamacare. Here’s Neal Cavuto’s explanation and it is great. If you don’t understand what is bad about ObamaCare please read this and you will understand.

Mr. President, Fox News isn’t what’s making Americans sick about your healthcare law. Your healthcare law is. Welcome, everybody, I’m Neil Cavuto. And excuse this departure from form. But I think this is just poor form. So, it’s time we set some things straight.

Mr. President, we at Fox News are not the problem. I hate to break it to you, sir. You are. Your words are. Your promises are. We didn’t sell this healthcare law. Sir, you did. Remember this?

President Barack Obama: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.

Mr. President, tell that to tens of thousands of retirees at IBM and Time Warner and dozens of others, who’ve been dumped from their coverage and told to find their own coverage. Fox News didn’t break that news to them, Mr. President. Their companies did.

Fox News didn’t push more of those firms to hire part-time workers. Your healthcare law did. Fox News didn’t incentivize fast food restaurants to scale back their benefits. Your healthcare law did. Fox News didn’t make doctors want to opt out. Your healthcare law did. Fox News didn’t make insurance premiums sky rocket. Your healthcare law did. Just like Fox News didn’t grant hundreds of exemptions to companies that needed them. You did. And Fox News didn’t delay one key provision after another, including online enrollment for those small business exchanges. You did.

Just like it wasn’t Fox News that said we had to pass this to see what was in this. You did. Or was that Nancy Pelosi? Sometimes I’m confused. But of this I am not. Fox News didn’t re-do basic math. Sir, you did. Fox News didn’t say you can cover 30 million more Americans and not see a hit in premiums. You did. Fox News didn’t say you could throw in those with pre-existing conditions and not have to pay for it. You did. Fox News didn’t all but say you could get something for nothing. You did. Fox News didn’t come back years later and say, oh yea, we did raise some taxes. You did.

Here’s where you are right about Fox News, however, Mr. President. We can do math. And did. You cannot. And did not. We said it, and proved it. You didn’t. And we’re all suffering for it. Take it from the numbers guy at Fox. Numbers don’t lie. The number of Americans working part-time and nervous. The number of retirees days away from being dumped on exchanges and anxious. The number of company bosses with any news to pass along on those exchanges, but still clueless. The number of doctors who want out. The number of congressmen now opting out. No, Mr. President, none of those numbers lie.

But with all due respect sir, I can only conclude you do know; I know, I know you hate us at Fox. But please take a look in a mirror, and fast. You think we’re the skunk at your picnic. But that doesn’t mean we’re the ones that stink. Because that smell isn’t coming from the folks reporting on your law. Mr. President, that smell is your law.

    • Obama is a liar. Obama is a commie, just like his mommy, his daddy, his grandparents and his “Uncle Frank”. He’s just behaving true to form.

  3. Rev- As always, those of us that actually EARN a living lose… sigh

Dirk- At least you WILL have a plan…

CP- THAT’s going to leave a mark! 🙂

  4. Alaska still sits at 0 per the local newspaper, so they haven’t signed up anyone there, but there aren’t that many people in Alaska – certainly not like Chicago or the uber progressive San Francisco. I wonder how many of Mrs. Clinton’s New York-Upper West Side people signed up for ObamaCare?

I’m really tired of the progressives. Frigging tired of them. They all love Africa. Every single one of them. I’ve never met a progressive who didn’t speak glowingly of Africa. There’s plenty of land in Mali and Niger. They could go there and be even more progressive.

  5. See where Michelle Malkin is exposing Colorado’s dot.com trust fund Congressman, Jared Polis, Progressive, Boulder who is pushing to get a wavier for the ski bum worker bees. Seems the “affordable” rates in the high Rockies are three times the rates East of the Front Range. Like, who is going to make my latte during my awesome Aspen vacation? This is a crises!

Same ^%*&@# who, along with three other trust fund babies, developed and funded the “Colorado Model” gun control push.

  6. The radio just reported that Big-Blue New York state has had ZERO enrollees to date. Other than local radio talk show hosts testing the system, I don’t know of anyone who has tried to enroll.

  7. And then there’s the whole bait and switch with prices – the web site is often giving prices well below what the person’s real cost will be.

  8. LL- Thanks for that info. I didn’t have it. I wish they WOULD go, but they’d be back in two days after ‘reality’ set in..

    WSF- Transplanted Californians???

    Crucis- Isn’t THAT interesting!

PH- Oh yeah, tip of the iceberg!!!

    TOL- Good point sir!

    Opus- Yep!

  9. Polis is a native. The ski towns need seasonal workers who often try to become year around residents. Tend to vote liberal. Seems to be split between ski/snowboard fanatics and illegals. Very large abyss between the wealthy and the proles.

  10. Who wins? The insurance companies. They’re able to drop the majority of the current policies because they don’t meet the ACA minimum standards and people will be forced to the exchanges and their more expensive policies. Losers: hospitals, doctors, and anyone with a partially or unsubdized policy. Pretty much everyone.
