Appears the Interwebz is a tad strange today…
Sites aren’t loading, comment windows aren’t coming up, or not posting comments on sites that normally work pretty well…
I’m seeing ping latency’s in excess of 500ms which is NOT good!
Seems like this has been going on all week to one extent or another, but not ‘this’ bad. Anybody else seeing the same things?

Me commenting on computers and the internet is like a third grader lecturing Phd candidates. That said, downloads have been slow the last three days. I have Century Link.

Not sure about inter webs and commenting. I was on my phone all weekend, out of town. The phone web surfing is always bad.

My kid had off for Veteran’s Day. But then again – he’s off for Teacher Appreciation Day, Arbor Day, National Egg Salad Day, Vegan Awareness Day. He’s home more than he’s in school. It’s so difficult for me to schedule a manicure.
The last time I had a beef with the local schools, I went to the district office. Without meaning to be “wicked”, I wore a camouflage military shirt. Those who know me understand that in cold weather, I wear them about half the time over a t-shirt.
Before they would speak to me, they called a security guard to “watch me”. The guard grabbed me and I told him that he’d be dead before he hit the ground if he didn’t let me go. He let me go. I told the District official to call the local sheriff’s department. I simply had a problem with the admissions process for summer school that I wanted to work out with somebody. I didn’t come to fight.
A sheriff’s sergeant arrived, I showed creeds and said that I just came to pick up an admissions application and the morons went hostile on me. The guard quoted me on the statement that he’d be dead before he hit the ground. I told the sergeant that it was merely a statement of fact. The sergeant told the guard that he couldn’t do anything about me merely telling the truth (said it with a smirk).

I just gave up. But it hasnt been speed so mchu as a weirdness of behavior.
Oh,that is without doubt the very best absence excuse I’ve ever seen. Kudos to the Vet. I too was a Big Red One in ‘Nam.

I’m on Comcast, too, and yes, strange things were happening. For one, it appeared that some Comcast DNS servers were under DoS attacks. Also, after running some route tests, it looked like there were router issues. I ran tests to the same IP, one long known for me, and the route delay varied greatly. For me, the problem ended about 2pm local time. But it really messed up my day!
Re school excuses, I once wrote one for my daughter for several days of “Hydrotherapy at Queens.”
Queens is a surf break in Waikiki as well as the biggest hospital in Honolulu. No one questioned it and the surf was great.
