And got my ass totally lost…
Simple (supposedly) directions to a good restaurant that was ‘only’ a few minutes walk…
But one does see some ‘interesting’ things…
This was actually the ‘right’ alley I was supposed to walk through…
A better pic, nice work, but not where most people would ever see it…OBTW, that was the ONLY correct alley out of four…
I did finally get there, and was only 15 minutes late, the cop I asked for directions DID get a laugh out of it though, when he turned me around and pointed across the street to the place I was asking directions to… Â Sigh…
And this was the plaque for the artwork at the hotel…
And the panorama shot of the artwork…
The maintenance guy I was chatting with said it was all done by ‘local’ aboriginal artists and took about a year to complete it… Each of the panels AND the raised areas has a meaning, but it started raining and I didn’t get the complete data dump on it.
You did get an adventure out of it, though. 🙂
Our own Thomas Lowell.
That’s not sarcasm.
Thanks.
Was the meal worth it?
I’d like to sign on for the next trip.
Australia is on my bucket list, and I might get a chance to go in June for their Navy reunion of the HMAS Melbourne. I guess on one can get away from turmoil, but the aborigines are giving the interlopers a hard time, not wanting the Australian Flag flow at events and stuff. The were there for thousands of years before the white man came… and never had anything like a wheel until then. Seriously. But glad you got to enjoy some down time while there.
I wonder, is the raised area supposed to be representative of Uluru?
That’s a nice stitching job on the panorama. What tool did you use?
And what was for dinner? 🙂
Rev- Yep! LOL
Ed- Thanks!
WSF- It was GOOD! 🙂 Dry aged Aussie beef is as good as anything stateside!
Stephen- The ONLY problem is the BIS time… 20+ hours… sigh
CP- It’s worth it… And I guess 4 hours counts as down time… 🙂
Erin- No idea, didn’t have time to get all the info.
Buck- It’s an app called photosynth
Geez, you lose your a$$e and over come more stuff than any mule skinner I ever met.
I wish people would stop painting my picture on the sides of buildings.

I want a “Like” button on this post. I love all the artwork. Looks like Lauren Bacall in the big mural. 🙂
Cool. What city is this?
Great Art Work.
You were not lost just directionally challenged.
That’s not too bad at all, at least you were still in the same city. I was heading for Chapel Hill, NC and ended up in Rock Hill, SC. Sad part is I had a map. (yes my nickname fits)
Brighid- Thank you (I think)… 🙂
Mrs. C- I ‘thought’ there was a resemblance…
Phlegmmy- Thanks!
Andy- Adelaide
Rick- Yeah, that too…LOL
EL- Ouch!
