I’m beginning to wonder if I’m still living in the USA…

PCism is truly running amok….  A twofer from California…

You’re RACIST if you wave the American flag???

The controversy brought a small group of protesters out Monday, and the community reacted immediately.

“What’s wrong with these white people holding up American flags in Morgan hill??? Racist a–holes,” wrote Gia Lee in a feed monitored by Twitchy.

And it’s now illegal to sell a Confederate Flag in ANY State run facility in California…

So much for the 1st Amendment… Guess if your momma doesn’t like it, you can just pass a law…

And one closer to home (actually the next county over)

FAIRFAX, Va. – A plan to ban “frequent and large gatherings at neighborhood homes” is a lawsuit waiting to happen, a Fairfax County supervisor predicts.

/snip

The proposed zoning ordinance limits “group assembly” at residences to 49 people a day. Such gatherings “shall not occur more frequently than three times in any 40-day period.”

And Pelosi wants to ‘honor’ Sinko de Mayo by pushing amnesty…

Even though the Congressional Budget Office has determined that amnesty legislation would lower the wages of American workers and detrimentally impact Hispanics on the lower end of the economic ladder, Democrats and Republicans backed by big-business and the high-tech industry have been relentless in advocating for sweeping amnesty legislation.

And I found THIS rather interesting, considering USAToday’s coverage of the anti-christian rants and the ‘bowing’ to muslim rhetoric seen in their coverage the last few years…  If you don’t believe SCOTUS is truly divided, go read the opinions… sigh…

And in truly sad news, via Og it appears Jeffro from The Poor Farm Blog has passed away. I’m sorry I never got to meet him in real life.  May he rest in peace, and know his troubles are at an end…

Edit- And another late entry from Kalifornia…

The Rialto Unified School District is defending an eighth-grade assignment that asks students to debate in writing whether the Holocaust was “merely a political scheme created to influence public emotion and gain.”

  1. Forty-nine people isn’t all that many. I know a number of home church groups that are larger…people holding church services at their homes, lawns in warmer weather. Many such groups can’t afford a building and have church at home.

You’re right, that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen.

  2. It’s perfectly fine to wave a Mexican flag in California. Not an American flag and certainly not a Confederate flag.

  3. The item about prohibiting the American flag is being misrepresented by commercial media along with right wingnuts. It’s all about gang violence, no more nor less. Ask how many of these patriots fly the flag the rest of the year and you’ll discover that none do. Ditto with the Mexican flag. But on Cinco de Mayo the Latinos wave the flag at the white boys, who respond by waving their own flag. And the entire business escalates from there.

I’d really like to know who kicked off the prohibition against large gatherings, because I’m betting it was one neighbor have large, drunken parties that roared along until four in the morning every single weekend during the summer. I’m a real party person, and I’d get sick of that kind of thing in a hurry.

  4. The only proper response to the PCism, of course, is to ignore it. An unConstitutional prohibition is illegal, prima facie.

    So there. 🙂

  5. Crucis- True… sigh

    LL- Yep! Another truism… dammit…

MJ- It wasn’t so much gang activity the last time, it was four kids wearing American flag shirts to school on Cinco de Mayo that started it. The gang bangers jumped on it after the fact, at least from the reports I saw last year… FWIW…

    WSF- True dat!

    Pissed- Yep Bizzaro world…

Rev- Point, except ‘ignoring’ may get your ass arrested today… sigh

  6. I’m really sorry to hear about Jeffro from The Poor Farm. He had a serious run of bad luck, but he stuck it out as best he could – and he came from the heartland near where my own relatives scrabbled and scratched out a living. Rest in peace my friend.

  7. Not so sure I consider the PRC (People’s Republic of California) part of the USA anymore. As for the Va ban on ‘large’ gatherings, that’s actually pretty mild compared to some of the draconian homeowners association restrictions I’ve seen.

  8. How long before Greece cannot insist that those prayers before council meetings must be in English?

I can see it now, a Muslim cleric exhorting those of the “religion of peace” to kill the infidel councillors in Arabic while they look on and nod pleasantly.
