Jim, I wish you the best on Thanksgiving! While serving I was never home for Thanksgiving, or Christmas, but to be honest, we DID NOT hold hands! 🙂

It’s too bad that everyone can’t be home, safe and eating at the family table. However we’ve had our turn manning the wall, my friend, and it is a lonely business most of the time.

Now it’s time to be in CONUS and to savor the experience and know that it exists because we fought for it.

I think my hardest Thanksgiving and Christmas was in 1972 on Guam. It was my seventh year of not being home for the holidays and it did not seam it would ever end. God bless the men and women out there on the line.

Selfish of me, but I’m thankful none of my extended family are in harms way this Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
