Mostly…
House is cleaned, stuff is in a cube for transport as soon as it sells.
My ass is draggin, but it’s done. Thanks to friends, and their recommendations, I got out for a reasonable amount on the various things that needed to be done. And this week has reinforced the rationale that I DON’T want a home with stairs…
My knees are killing me, and having a twisted knee isn’t helping (but the bright side is I didn’t fall down stairs ONCE… π Β And only fell UP stairs about three times…
Hoping the Realtor does his job in short order, as it’s priced to sell. I will miss some of the folks here, but my real friends here have either passed on, or moved away, so there isn’t any reason to retire in SC. Especially after the last week…
I would almost have preferred the weather above to trying to load that damn pod in 100 degree heat… I think I drank a gallon of water, and I’m STILL thirsty!
OBTW, the above picture was taken as we got ready to go flying in that mess… π

So where’re ya thinkin’ of dropping the hook, if I may ask?
I am betting it will not be California, Illinois, New Jersey or New York.
Oh man. You are leaving beautiful SC for Texas? SC is beautiful. It has to be the lack of income taxes.
Good luck with the sale – hope someone snaps it up soon!
glad you got it done reasonably intact.
Cool photo. Moving and packing and prepping a house is a major PITA.
Texas isn’t going to be any cooler, but it’s a whole lot more welcoming. π
(Sorry, SC – just calling it like I see it.)
Congrats on wrapping things up!
Flat and one-level is good! But often more expensive. Besides “Gun Friendly” being the first, we had a long list of “Nots” – “Not a huge staircase” was one, “not under Power-Lines” being another, “not near a School,” and “not by an Airport,” and “not a house on stilts”…there were a lot of Nots. It helps the Realtor narrow the search.
Wherever you land, may you find peace, good friends and all the good food and cheap hooch you can handle.
And if it’s Texas? Good for Texas, they’re getting another good ‘un.
Hoping it sells quickly, and you are on the way to better days in Texas, YeeHaw!
Good luck on the sale and with the move. We’re currently moving in that direction as we prepare for full or at least partial retirement. We’ll not be doing in SoCal, I’ll be heading home to family and friends in NC.
Good on you for getting your packing done!
The old saying goes “The only time you can have too much ammo is if you are trying to swim or are on fire” I would add a third: Moving.
I have to think that also applies to guns and gun safes too.
Can’t understand you posting a picture of a balmy day.
I must have missed something, I had you pegged in NOVA. Now, you won’t finish that Appleseed down here. Did your neck ever let you get back to shooting prone?
Hey old NFO;
Soooooooowhereyoumovingto? Just wherever you move to, make sure it is big enough for all us bloggers to show up. Serious question…..how you gonna handle your dead tree request for your book if you are moving..
I must have missed it, too.
Well, safe trip and happy landing no matter where you’re going!
Damn, didn’t get to have a beer with you here in SC. Well fair winds and following seas shipmate…. I’m sure you will still be around here on the net.
Awww man like senior said wished we could have got together. Take care out in TX. I got lots of peeps there so where will ya be at? We concur on the two story thing..while picking out our new place we said no 2 stories.
All- Thanks, and yeah, looking at Texas for the no state income tax. Friends and family in the area. JUGM, not saying I won’t get back here.
Posted from my iPhone.
Good luck with your sale and move
Welcome Home!!!! If you don’t get a good welcome where you heading, come on down to my neck of the brush! Always happy to have good people here.
Rick/STx- Thanks!
That picture looks a lot like the airport in Cut Bank, Montana (where my wife and I grew up) on a typical winter day.
