Random stuff…

This one came from Stretch. It pretty well nails it…Liberals

Facts and common sense seem to be lacking, along with pretty much everything except ’emotions’…

In other news, the Pope is in DC, and traffic is well and truly screwed. I feel for those who live/work in the District on many levels, but this one is a whole NEW level of screwed… Multiple streets blocked for hours, estimates of one hundred thousand people trying to get to see the Pope, and a whole bunch of folks that have no idea where they are going.  Gotta give the Pope props though, his ‘papal car’ is a four door Fiat 500! 🙂

He is obviously a humble man, and kudos to him, but I don’t particularly like his stands on climate change, and immigration.

One other thing I’ve noticed, is Arlington County police department is now using multiple cars on all traffic stops. All of the stops I’ve seen in the last four or five days have included no less than three cars, and sometimes four or five cars. Can’t say that I blame them for that. And all of the motor officers I’ve seen have been riding in pairs too.

If you’re wondering why I haven’t put any political posts up, I’m just not wasting my time with them. Too much crap is going on, too many players, and the games the Hildabeast is playing with the FBI, State and others just pisses me off. If that were one of us, our asses would have already been UNDER the damn jail.

Lastly, there was one more dump yesterday on the OPM hack, and they’ve now admitted an additional SIX MILLION records were ‘accessed’, including all of the fingerprint files! Rumor has it that OPM had NO internal firewalls between servers, so once there was breach, everything was open and available!!!

Gah… So if I were you and I’d ever applied for a .gov job, I’d be watching my bank accounts and emails and any social media you might be on for hacks, identity theft, and let your friends/relatives know they may be vulnerable too, if you used them for a reference.

The only positive I have is we are doing the Eastern Blogger Shoot in late Oct! Details HERE!

Oh yeah, and I got a new holster…

DLW with Ed Brown

Dennis at Dragon Leather Works does EXCELLENT work!!! Custom holsters aren’t cheap, contrary to what ‘some’ people seem to think. You are paying for the quality, the finish and the craftsmanship that goes into them.

These are not machine stamped out hundreds at a time. They are individually made, one at a time. If you want those cheap ones, go to Uncle Mikes or Galco…

  1. I don’t agree with the Pope’s stand on immigration either. ILLEGAL immigrants in particular. We take great pride showing citizenship ceremonies of immigrants who went through the legal paperwork, took the classes and did everything to EARN their U.S. citizenship. I wonder how these people feel, watching what they had to earn be GIVEN to these.

Sure, I feel compassion towards what these people are fleeing. Most of them are just looking for a better way of life. We have plenty of Americans who are doing the same. And the foreign born will be competing for the same resources.

No fair, not fair at all.

That is an awesome holster. Very classy.

  2. I have been reading your blog for 5-6 years, it’s good to know you are a fellow traveling man…

  3. I’m going to have to check out that holster maker. Excellent.

  4. I’ve been using Dennis’s holsters for about 4 years. Specifically, his Fugly, IWB. It is comfortable, stable and has good retention. All the other holsters are now in a box. I’m too cheap to throw them out, but they are rarely to never used. His holsters are not cheap but surely are worth their price.

  5. j.r.- Agreed, and I don’t see it getting better soon… dammit!

    Jason- Thank you Brother!

LL- He does good work, and if you have a special request, he’ll work with you on that too!

Roger- I have a couple of Dennis’ holsters. If you have extras you don’t use, Peter Grant (Bayou Renaissance Man) can use them. He donates holsters to elderly/handicapped he teaches.

  6. That’s one good-lookin’ holster, right there. I keep telling myself I should get one. But Christmas is coming up … hmmm.

  7. Ha. Love that meme. Love that holster. You are getting pretty snazzy.

  8. Watching the news this morning; I decided that if all else fails, I’m joining the Swiss Guard.

I’m not Catholic (Methodist), but the Pope seems like a cool guy, and hey, I read “Red Rabbit”, am good with assorted Sig products, so why not?

  9. Rev- You’ll like it! 🙂

Fargo- LOL, getting ready to retire, so getting stuff while I can still afford it! 🙂

WSF- Yeah, I fear I’m getting that way too… Is it age, or just tired?

  10. Is that a real piece of snake skin? And where will you be off or from in your travels?

  11. Reposting: Is that a real piece of snake skin? And where will you be off or from traveling this week?

  12. Intend to visit DC next week.
Hope the traffic has cleared by then.
I don’t know if I’d let anything that purty out of the cabinet.

    • Words advice from a native Washingtonian.
Stay in a VIRGINIA suburb and take the Metro (either bus or train) into the District. Stay on/near the Mall or North West. Get out of town along with the rest of the worker bees. If you must stay in the District pay the extra for The Willard or a Georgetown hotel. Bring Prozac.

  13. I posted that pic the other day on my FB…as of yet NONE of my liberal friends or family have commented…can’t imagine why.

I suppose the pope is a nice guy, but for being a man of the cloth he is extremely liberal.

LOVE, LOVE , LOVE the new holster…I have been wanting for so long do something like that for Senior..may be a good though for Christmas..

  14. That new holster is nearly too pretty to use, looks like a high-grade Church Holster. Beautiful piece, wear it with pride.
I won’t make it to the BlogShoot. I’ve got Bariatric surgery scheduled for the day before. I’m gonna make a permanent fix to the weight problem.
I’m not too sure where this Pope comes off with his social welfare and climate control preaching. But then again, centuries ago the Pope was a very political office and de facto ruler. Not my Pope, not my religion to criticize.
Like you, I’ve been a little too jaded with the ongoing politics to do much posting. I can’t wait to see what the Fibbies come up about Shrillarie and crew. And hope that the Gov doesn’t get shut down, just when I have a couple of real opportunities out there. Dallas, and same group in JBAB.
    Stay safe!

  15. The Bishop of Rome is a Liberation Theologian from a socialist country. The SJ has fallen a long way from St. Ignatius of Loyola. I guess the first “Black Pope” (look it up) is turning out as big a blank as our Black President.
At least the the Dominicans and Franciscans can argue their members are more theologically sound.
I’d be more impressed about the Fiat 500 if there weren’t those 4 armored SUVs keeping point on the corners.

Arlington has long been a target of opportunity from cross river yutes. Stepping up to 2-man units in today’s climate is the only logical thing to do. I wonder what Alexandria PD is doing.

I am SO thankful I did not take that IT job at OPM. After all, the contractor is ALWAYS the one to get it in the neck.

Dennis makes damn good gear. I’ve a custom rig for my S&W 625. His work here: http://www.ma-rooned.com/2012/08/super-duper-extra-friday-gun-pr0n.html

  16. Keads- Thanks!

    Ev- Yes, it’s real Python… 🙂 I’m actually home for a week!!!

Ed- I don’t have safe queens of ANY type! 🙂 See Stretch’s comment re traffic

    Stretch- Agreed!!!

JUGM- Yeah, amazing how quiet they get… And Dennis does good work!

    WN- Concur with all!

    Stretch- Agreed!!!
