A funny…

But true too…

Not that ‘I’ ever did anything like that, or knew anybody that did…

Nope…

Never…

  1. I can neither confirm, nor deny, the accuracy of the photos.

  2. Memorize: “On the advice of my attorney I decline to answer on the grounds that my response may tend to incriminate me.”

When the photos of your adventures surface, it’s invaluable.

  3. Nope…

    Never…

That’s my story too…and I’m sticking to it!

The guy holding the bottle looks awful familiar though. 🙂

  4. The sailors above are trying to hold themselves in reserve by not burning out. The skill to do that is under appreciated by other services.

  5. I don’t remember anything like that, at all. That’s been my official story for 40 years; no reason to change it now.

  6. I call shenanigans. The Army one should show a hypothetical 21 year old 2LT Mack staggering to formation in one loader and one sneaker.

  7. I remember being in Bremerhaven while a Navy cruiser was in port. First two nights the place was full of sailors. Third night only lifers who had drunk every kind of swill everywhere in the world.
Knowing what German beer does to those not acclimated, asked one, “What are the heads like on your ship”? Reply, “Why the #$^&* do you think we are here”?

  8. My Dad served on the Wisconsin in Korea. I have a book published by the Wisconsin Association showing some of her sailors on liberty in Japan. I’d swear my Dad is kneeling with a “hostess” sitting on his knee with a drink in his hand. I never asked and as far as I know my Mom has never seen it. I figure what happened in Japan stays in Japan.

  9. Accurate, though wish I had a pic from running PT in a state similar to those Navy pukes*. No fun whatsoever !

Never try to go drink for drink with a bunch of Nam vets that don’t have to be anywhere the next day.

  10. Yep this is OLD Navy, todays navy it would be 6 6 and a kick for being seen like this. P.S. Even in the new Navy accepting invites to a British man o’ war’s can be hazardous to your health, just sayin’

  11. All- Thanks for the comments… Heath- you’re right.

George- Amen… It’s pathetic these days!!!

  12. Of course, those are Sailors on the beach… Kind of different picture 6 AM underway. Then it is a bunch of tired guys after a 6 hour watch chowing down before they start Ship’s work for another 6 hours. Well, on a sub, anyway. We didn’t dink around with 4 hour watches and two dog watches between 4 and 6 PM.

  13. OK, I’m gonna call hoax on the Air Force Picture.

    First-That’s a tent. No Way!
    Second-That’s a cot. No F’in Way!
Third-Those are sleeping bags, not sheets. No F’in Way!

OBTW. Change the uniform and there are some pictures much like that taken at Angeles City that I might be in.
