Thoughts on Orlando…

The pettifogging and obfuscation have already started…

Knowns- Muslim, radicalized, problem ‘child’ at work, killed 50 LGBT in a club in Orlando called Pulse. Democrat since 2009.

Club had a policy of patting individuals down ‘most’ of the time. Florida has a prohibition of carrying armed into a club that sells alcohol. Effectively a gun free zone.

FBI questioned individual twice in 2013-2014 for ‘radicalization’.

Used an AR-15 in commision of the crime.

The spin-

It’s the GUN, an O.M.G ebil black rifle ‘assault weapon’…

Oh this was ‘domestic terrorism’… according to the administration.

No linking to radical islam or ISIS at all, even though it was known by the administration (and briefed by the FBI)…

blame gun

Predictably, the usual suspects immediately started dancing in the blood of the victims and calling for gun control…

However, the Pink Pistols came out with a different take… HERE.

Of course the HuffPo comes out with a different take… HERE.

Peter has a good post up HERE on his take on the whole thing and safety…

Thoughts on Orlando… — 17 Comments

  1. The incident itself, the spin that came out of the incident and the reaction of the progs is all too predictable.

Islam breeds dysfunction both in the Middle East, in Europe and in the US – what a shock.

  2. When I see a “Coexist” sticker, I believe the drive is making a public statement that translates to, “I am a fool, or an idiot, or both.”

And yes, the “evil” gun will be blamed.

  3. LL/Rev- Agreed! This is NOT new, just ignored (again)…

    John- Yep, good point! Dammit…

  4. NFO, a very tragic incident indeed. And one, I’m sad to say, will be perpetrated again. Until we meet this evil with deadly force, it won’t stop.

Your picture says “When there’s a drunk driving accident we blame the driver”. It seems now-a-days, thanks to progressive judges, we blame the bartender. People don’t have to be responsible anymore. Such a sad state of affairs.

  5. As long as the progs blame the guns, they can safely stay out of the way of actually dealing with Muslim terrorist violence.

Given the probable 100% progressive population that died or were wounded inside of the night club, it is unfortunate that progs cannot safely stay out of the way of Muslim terrorist violence by blaming guns.

  6. Evil is as evil does. Whackjob, no matter the motivation, is going to be a danger to others. It looks like this guy jumped through just about every regulatory hoop there is and still passed a NICCS check. Only thing I can think of is he would have been Lautenberg’ed if his ex had taken him to court over the abuse she claims.

As for the politicians using this to further their own agendas, it’s just another example of why I say we haven’t seen a real statesman in a generation.

  7. Pamela- Good point, and yes it IS truly sad.

    Euripides- Excellent point!

    DB- Agreed… dammit…

  8. The media is in a quandary. Emerging reports indicate that the shooter might have been gay, or at least ‘confused.’

What are they to do? They can’t blame his religion. They can’t blame his sexual orientation. There’s nothing left to do but blame the gun…

  9. My sentiments. Can’t stand the news right now. “assault weapon”…”military style wounds”. I mean…what writer comes up with that crap? When do they blame the idiot suspect? He is a married gay confused Muslim? Whatever. Inanimate objects. That’s the media’s ticket to stardom and spin. Oh and he was supposedly linked to the other dude who was a bomber. Hm. What have we here? Oh…yeah. The guns need to be banned. I hate to say this but I am sick of them using these incidents as a platform and not talking about real issues. I think Trump is a little over the top, but he actually spoke well on the clip I viewed about this shooting. Ok. I am off to get angry again.

  10. Operational Question:
S.O.P. for an active shooter since Columbine is for the first two officers to engage. In areas with scattered coverage first officer engages.
Orlando P.D. SWAT held positions outside club for an hour (hours? Media unreliable as to span). Why?
    Serious questions:
How many wounded bled out in that time span?
    Why did OPD wait?
    Who ordered wait?
Will we ever hear tapes or see transcripts of OPD radio traffic? Yeah, that’s a rhetorical question.

  11. I had a friend. He did 3 tours in Afghanistan. Earned a Purple Heart and other medals. Two weeks after he got home he was shot to death by a street thug with an AR-15. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The thug wasn’t even aiming at him, he didn’t even know he was in the line of fire.
I didn’t fight for my country to come home to a country more dangerous (over 30,000 gun shot deaths a year) than the war zone I left.
I prefer to live in a society where I don’t have to carry a gun everyday I walk out my front door. Simply carrying a gun won’t solve the problem, and what about those innocent civilians who don’t want to carry a gun, or shouldn’t because they wouldn’t know how to use it, even with training. They are dangerous also.
If carrying a gun is the only answer to violence in America, then we have surrendered to the violence. A very sad way ti live.

  12. Wow, you deleted my comment? Thanks for proving you are part of the violence problem.

  13. Tim- Good point!

    Fargo- Understood and agreed…

    GB- Thanks!

    Rick- Possible…

Tom- Carrying should be up to the TRAINED individual. I’m sorry for your loss, but it was his time to be called home.

Tom- No, I didn’t delete it, I have to moderate comments due to spam, and I just got home from taking care of some stuff. Sorry…

  14. Tom is a little sensitive because he’s looking over his shoulder everywhere he goes. It IS a sad way to live.
Here in the U.S. we’ve been fortunate not to have to live that way until recently. What has changed?
Tom has a right to his opinion.
My Purple Heart shows I’ll fight for his right to publish his thoughts here.
    Be safe and well, Tom.
