The Typhoon is one of those aircraft that I saw in photos and in oil and never realized how BIG they were. Standing next to them you get the scope of the aircraft and it puts a whole different spin on them.
Til now, not familiar with that aircraft.
As effective as it looks?
Unfortunately not. Poor wing design basically killed whatever potential it had. The follow-on Tempest and Fury fixed that, and were _very_ effective.
Nice art. Not the best British airplane but they made it work.
All- Thanks for the comments.

From Wiki—
“In March 1940, engineers were assigned to investigate the new low drag laminar flow wing developed by NACA in the United States, which had been used in the new North American P-51 Mustang.”
This lead to the development of what would become the Tempest—

As they say “You can fly a barn door, with a big enough engine.”. Physics is physics. No great surprise that design developments all ended up in similar places—the final versions of the P-47, Hawker Tempest, and Ki-100.
RHT- Excellent point!
