Who @$#$^% cares…

I sure as hell don’t…

It appears twenty something Dem congresscritters won’t be at the inauguration of PRESIDENT Trump. If they think their little hissy fit really means anything, they are sadly mistaken.

Link, HERE.

Re John Lewis, he’s traded on Selma and MLK for years, while doing little or nothing for his district in Atlanta, according to folks that have tried to work with him. I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if, say John McCain, had said the same about Obama in 2008??? OBTW, Lewis is now using the kefluffle for FUNDRAISING!!!

Rep. John Lewis’ first response to Donald Trump‘s scathing tweets Saturday came in the form of a fundraising pitch for the Democratic Party.

“Today, Donald Trump attacked me on Twitter. He said that I’m ‘all talk’ and ‘no action,'” the Georgia Democrat said in a DNC fundraising email.

Link HERE to the article. Makes one wonder if this was all on purpose?

If those dems were my representatives, I’d be asking whose side they are actually on, theirs or Americas…

  1. My thought when I heard about this yesterday was that would leave open some seats for folks who do want to be at the inauguration.
I’m not surprised Lewis and the Dems would immediately try to fund raise off of this kerfuffle. Isn’t one of their guiding tenants to never let a crisis/incident to go to waste.
My hope is that when Trump started to ask “what have the dems done for you recently” while he was campaigning, that folks are taking a long hard look at how much bang they have (not) been getting for their vote, and buck, from many of these congress critters. I think it really struck a chord with many, just from what I’ve heard from my patients. Add to that how much has happened, job-wise, already, and he isn’t even IN office yet…folks are starting to wake up. If he follows through with re-building many of the inner city regions, John Lewis may find himself looking for a new job.
A fresh perspective could be a very good thing long-term.

  2. If they want to boycott the inauguration that’s their prerogative, just shows how silly and childish they’re being.

    • Just about as childish as staging a sit-down “strike” in the well of the House of Non-Representatives.
And there are few, if any, who will miss that bunch of cry-babies at the inauguration.

  3. Fill the seats of the disgruntled congressmen with disabled Afro-American veterans. Everyone wins.

  4. Snicker. When I was at Fort Mac right before BRAC shut it down, I was technically a resident in Rep Lewis’ district. It was most fun to vote against him.

  5. Who cares? The poor tantrum-throwing toddlers, torn between the dramatic wail-and-flail that they won’t go, and the creeping unease and fear that none of the adults are paying attention. It’s a pity they’re too old to spank and send to their TV-less bed without their supper, because that means the gods of the copybook headings will do the spanking instead.

  6. Hey Old NFO;

I live in the same state as Rep Lewis. He has been riding the Selma/Civil Rights thing since he got elected. John Lewis did good in the beginning, but he became a progressive rather than a good American. He keeps getting elected due to the demographic of his district and the amount of bacon he can get into the district.

  7. Having liberal democrats refuse to come to any public event you’re at is like having pedophiles refuse to come to your five-year old’s sleep-over. I can’t think of anyone who’d really mind.

  8. LL- I wish they would! 🙂

    SPE- LOL

    Wing- ROTF…

    AOW- That they are!

Bob- Yep, heard that from a couple of others too…

    Murph- Point!

    WSF- 🙂

  9. He did the same thing to G.W during his first inauguration by calling him a illegitimate president too and not attending. Just like you, WHO CARES!!!!! Just another career politician who does nothing for his constituents and obviously has anti-white racial tendencies, It’s all our fault… Just my two cents…..

  10. When a congressman says that the president is not legitimate, I would think he has assumed he has become part of an illegitimate government and should resign.

  11. The list of those not going includes some of the most corrupt pols in Congress. We don’t need them.

  12. Senior- I wonder if he fundraised then too? Probably…

    Ed- That’s an idea! 🙂

PH- Nope, and the list grows longer. An email from a friend said they should put Wounded Warriors in those places to give the gathering a little class, I don’t disagree!

  13. Along the same lines are the NeverTrumpies who are somehow surprised that their phones aren’t ringing:
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/never-trump-national-security-republicans-fear-they-have-been-blacklisted/2017/01/16/a2fadf54-d9a3-11e6-b8b2-cb5164beba6b_story.html

I agree with the consensus that Dems are merely fundraising. I think some of the NeverTrumpies were doing something similar by placing a bet that Trump would fall. They lost. The Dems will, too.

  14. Who cares – exactly ! If you don’t like President Trump, no reason to bother attending. In fact, just what do ‘celebrity guests’ bring to the Inauguration Party table ? Does the celebrity think that their presence makes or breaks the event ? One less dish to clean and one less place mat to pick up sez the caterer – bye now !

What would be refreshing – Trump should bring some of those ‘deplorable voters’ to show up and enjoy the party. They can all flip off the media and the celebrities. Now that would be awesome !
