It followed me home…

So I guess I’ll keep it…

Momma’s old Agent has a little brother…

And the grips are excellent, it automatically comes up to NPOA. And it will take +P ammo, which the old Agent won’t. Not sure about the fiber optic front sight’s durability, but it sure is easy to see!!! 🙂

Now I just need to get to the range and put it in rotation, once I’m comfortable with it! AND I actually found a holster that it fits…

One of the ironies of the original Agents with the hammer shroud is that nobody actually made a set of rubber grips that fit it. The best you could do was get a set and cut them down, which I didn’t want to do.

  1. Very nice! I like the shrouded hammer. All you really need to do is drop it into your pocket. Cargo pants have a side pocket that works really well.

  2. Yet, here in Australia, as a Male, I CANNOT, I DARE NOT(!), be found by Police with even a knitting needle in my possession. Basically, if I have no justifiable reason to have on my person a knitting needle, metal or plastic, if I have no ‘business’, no employment or trade, that allows, justifies, or excuses me having in my possession a ‘knitting needle’, then I can be charged with various weapons offenses in Austr
    alia. Welcome to Australia.

  3. I like my Colt Cobra as well, and it’s been an orphan since my father gave it to me (mumbles) years ago back when he was alive. I think about 1979. I carry wadcutters in it and should consider an ammo upgrade since there are a lot of just-as-lethal or better loads out there for 38 Special. I wouldn’t use 38+P loads for the Cobra. It’s a belly gun, for grabbing people and discharging it in the gut. Standing off and trying to be accurate at any range could end up disappointing you.

Still and all, congrats on the acquisition! I really like it.

    Sorry, Stuart (above).

  4. Very nice conceal carry piece. Even in the modern age of semi-automatic polymer frames in exotic rounds, the .38 Spcl. in a snub revolver still makes sense. Joe Friday approves of this message.

  5. Hey Old NFO;

“Wheelguns”..there is something satisfying about wheelguns 🙂

  6. Being able to see the front sight would be a huge benefit!
Interesting shape of the trigger guard, and the cylinder release looks to be a bit easier to get to then the one on the older brother.

    Cool.

  7. I’ve found snubs, of various makes, to be more
    accurate than people often claim.
Hand size groups at 50 yards, while not
    common, are not impossible.
I prefer S&Ws to Colts but the sights on the
old Colt Detective Specials are better than
the fixed sights on S&W snubs.

  8. Clearly a wise move. Good judgment is always applauded !! It’ll save you bacon if needed, no if, and, or buts !!!

  9. Talk to me when it’s available in.357. 😀

I’m kinda spoiled with shooting the Magnum Carry a lot with full power 158gr .357 loads.

My Pop bought it to replace his Model 10 with adjustable sights that was stolen.

Are you sure that there aren’t any grips that will fit the Agent?

I think that the Houge rubber grips that were standard on the Magnum Carry, would probably work.

  10. All- Thanks for the comments, Ratus, no I tried them, and would have had to cut them down, which I tried and screwed up… sigh…
