Nike’s SJW stance…

Lots of ‘hype’ surrounding this, the left is saying it’s positive, and ‘numbers are up’

The real numbers don’t show that.

Nike’s Favorability Drops by Double Digits: Before the announcement, Nike had a net +69 favorable impression among consumers; it has now declined 34 points to +35 favorable.

No Boost Among Key Demos: Among younger generations, Nike users, African Americans, and other key demographics, Nike’s favorability declined rather than improved.

Purchasing Consideration Also Down: Before the announcement, 49 percent of Americans said they were absolutely certain or very likely to buy Nike products. That figure is down to 39 percent now.

The Effect on the NFL Seems Small, For Now: Forty percent of consumers said Nike’s campaign does not make them more or less likely to watch/attend NFL games — 21 percent said more likely and 26 percent said less likely (14 percent didn’t know).

From Morning Consult, HERE.

Also a lot of counter memes are showing up, but I still think Ramirez hit a home run, as he usually does, with this one. This one actually supports those who really DO make the sacrifices…

And yes Nike, you blew it IMHO… We veterans may be old, and out of shape, but WE have money and influence with our children and grandchildren, and WE buy Christmas presents.

Nike’s SJW stance… — 12 Comments

  1. Years ago. in my more athletic days, I had a Nike sponsorship. I wasn’t paid by them, but they did give me shoes. Back then their quality stuff was made in the us and they had a cheaper line made in Korea for those who wanted a fashionable swoosh. Company founder, Bill Bowerman, was a decorated WWII vet and a top coach. I doubt he would be happy with the way things are now. I know I won’t purchase any of their products.

  2. I can’t speak for the whole store, but not a single pair of Nike shoes has passed my register since their new “face” was revealed.

  3. I would be interested to see what stock market moves Nike “insiders” made in the days leading up to C^^^^^^^^^K announcement. They can’t all be damned fools.

  4. There’s a small lunch spot in my neighborhood, they did a great business. UNTIL – they decided to plaster their windows with “Impeach Trump” and “Open our borders” etc. posters. Now when I pass them around noonish, there are a few people at the counter, and a couple of tables – their business definitely took a big hit. Maybe some of their customers don’t agree with their viewpoint, and others may just want a chicken salad sandwich, without a side of politics.

  5. All- Thanks for the comments, Mrs.C- Yep, actions HAVE consequences… Get woke, go broke!

    Posted from my iPhone.

  6. Stopped at my usual pizza place post gun show (found some replacement grips for my Python) – sort of a tradition for me, there was feets ball on 2 of the TVs, basically ignored them even though one had my former favorite team (they have a blue star on their helmets – full disclosure I was born there 9BC) and concentrated on the pizza.
Nike, wassn’t that an ADA missile back in the day??
