Welp, PP is having fun out west with the pups… Between booties to keep their paws from getting burned, to the dogs doing ‘dog’ things.
Labs have fairly ‘sensitive’ pads on their paws, and they get walked regularly on asphalt, which is better than the rocks on the shoulder. But, it’s summer and hot on their pads so…

I think she broke the dog… Or he broke himself trying to get comfortable rather than just get IN the dog bed.

Busted dog! There goes another vet bill…
Knock on wood,my Lab mix hasn’t developed sore feet. Mainly we walk on concrete sidewalks. Two walks, early morning and after sunset probably helps.
Our Black Lab + Rottweiler mix Minerva June was the best dog ever. She learned how to sing on command; she could climb a ladder; she had a big girl voice she used when someone strange entered the premises; when I told her to go get in the tub to take a bath, she would do it. She didn’t WANT to do it, but she did it.
Her only defect was that she was terrified of cats. We had a rescue black mostly-Persian cat named Sugar Belly. She would “tree” Minnie on the bed in my bedroom, and then lie in the doorway so Minnie couldn’t get out. It was embarrassing. She probably weighed 30 times what Sugar Belly did.
Of course the dog is broke, the job doesn’t pay well.

Max, the borderXmcnabb was as hard headed as his owner. Cow broke his jaw while he was working in the corrals. He wouldn’t quit to go to the vet til we physically picked him up and put him in the pickup. God I miss that dog…
Brig- Yep, stubborn does NOT begin to describe working dogs!
