Sometimes…

You just have to wonder WTF is going on…

When the little folks jump on the bandwagon of a stock, just to make a little money.

The craziest financial story of the week has got to be GameStop stock’s meteoric rise from $6 a share to $340 a share overnight. It all began when Melvin Capital hedge-fund managers decided to short GameStop, betting the stock would fall. But a lot of retail investors viscerally hate billion-dollar hedge-fund managers who make a living manipulating the stock market and driving small investors out of the game.

But in reality, this says it all…

And then there’s Cuomo’s ‘response’ to the NY AG report on his WuFlu response…

“Who cares [if they] died in the hospital, died in a nursing home? They died.”

That’s how Gov. Cuomo callously responded Friday to the damning state attorney general’s report that revealed his administration downplayed the total number of nursing home residents killed by COVID-19.

Full article, HERE from the NY Post.

It appears that he was, as usual, trying to shift blame to the Feds, saying he’d ‘followed’ the CDC’s instructions on nursing homes… Yeah, right…

But this… Now THIS is a non-starter… Nope, no way in hell!

Now they’re coming for the bacon. An Oregon state lawmaker has proposed a bill to eliminate all “processed meats,” including beloved bacon, sausage, and hot dogs, from hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, and other places where people are stuck. This includes not only the patients and inmates but staff and visitors, too.

Full article, HERE.  Why oh why does this NOT surprise me???

And last but certainly the stupidest… Our own Texas nightmare, Shelia Jackson-Lee, Houston Dem who’s district is about 4 miles long and one block wide, there is this!

She filed HR 127 which starts out-

The Attorney General, through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, shall establish a system for licensing the possession of firearms or ammunition in the United States, and for the registration with the Bureau of each firearm present in the United States.

RETROACTIVELY!!!

But it gets even better!!!

The Attorney General shall make the contents of the database accessible to all members of the public, all Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities, all branches of the United States Armed Forces, and all State and local governments, as defined by the Bureau.

Sigh… Full article, HERE.

By the time you read this, I’ll be at the gunshow… 🙂

  1. From a lawyer and former business partner, whose company found itself being shorted until said company was finally able to buy enough of its own stock to bring the shorting to an end: “Shorting stocks isn’t illegal, but it probably should be.”

Re: Sheila Jackson Lee’s charming little bill, this is from a retired USCG petty officer who taught me more perfectly the way of the deck ape (apologies in advance): “Oh, hell no. F*** that s***. You can kiss my mother… a**!” Boatswain’s Mates do have such a way with words.

    • No need to apologize for normal Navy-speak. Took me a long time as a civilian to more-or-less successfully filter eight years of Naval language out of everyday usage.

  2. They locked us all up at home, took away our fun, and don’t look like they’re going to give it back to us any time soon.

And they’re surprised when people look around for new forms of entertainment and spot a way to screw with the folks they hate.

Everyone I know is giggling over the Gamestop thing.

    • LMAO! The “smartest” people in the world got their butts whooped by folks with cunning and guile. It’s hard to game people who game for a fun.

  3. Enjoy the show sir, its been about a year since my last one.

  4. The thing is the Democrat donkey asses in the House and Senate will pass Shelia Jackson-Lee’s bill. The confiscation of all arms in the public’s hands is coming in a couple of years. The ballot box is gone and so will be the ammo box.

  5. On Gamestop, the Redditors noticed that the open short sale _contracts_ exceeded the number of shares in existence, and so, could not be covered (settled) at any price. This was free money on the table, and the Robinhooders picked it up.
    “D*mn those meddling kids, anyway.”
The shorts were an effort by the hedge funds to screw Gamestop and its shareholders by driving the priced down.
The reaction by the SEC, .gov, and MSM is typical. “How dare you screw us! That’s not fair. We’re the ones whovare supposed to be screwing YOU!”

    • Ya can’t count cards in a casino because it evens the odds.
I’ve never understood why gamblers continue to gamble, knowing the odds are NEVER in their favor.
Aunt Jemima and her ilk are succeeding. I’m still trying to find ammo for my new Ruger 9mm paperweight after a month.
I fear we are headed for a revolution similar to France.

  6. There will be a LOT of canoeing mishaps if that firearms registration and licensing program gets off the ground.

  7. Gamers like their games, and I have a feeling they will relish the challenge of Wall Street. At this point, they are at level one. It will become easy after they learn the game, and level two will only be another challenge that perseverance will overcome.

Sheila Jackson Lee is either very good at finding enough illegal votes, or the representative of people that are severely mentally challenged.

  8. Hey Old NFO;

Yeah the Gamestop fiasco is funny as hell, ” how dare the wrong people make money”. as far as Sheila Jackson Lee goes….That will go over like a turd in the punchbowl…and there will be massive non compliance and if they try confiscation, it will be on like donkey Kong.

  9. What’s funny-not about the whole GameStop debacle is nobody is talking about the coordinated hit by all the hedgefunds to short Gamestop. It wasn’t one hedgefund, then others following, slowly then at a rush. No. It was a massive, business-wide hit by all the big and many of the middle and some included small hedgefunds, all at once. BOOM! Dumped, then more dumped every time what protections that are built into the system to stop tanking expired. BOOM! wait, BOOM! wait, BOOM!

That. That right there. Insider Trading at its finest. Coordination across most all hedgies to destroy a company (whether or not it deserved to be destroyed is another matter.)

Where’s the (non-football)SEC and the (in)Justice Department attacking the Hedgefunds? Hmmmm?

As to one of the most stupid and violent and ignorant people in Congress (which is saying a LOT!, she makes Corrinne Brown, who also had a district made for her that stretches from Jacksonville all the way down to almost Orlando, and curiously goes around traditionally white settlements… (but she got thrown into the Fed slammer for doing a Clinton with her charity) look almost smart. The chance that this bill was even read, or even in the same room as SJL until such time that one of her aides carried it into Congress are slim to none. Let alone actually even partially authored by the noted lackwit. Sorry, but when the special-needs kids make far more sense, and seem like friggin Einsteins in comparison, yeah, there’s absolutely no way this was ever even near SJL, as her negative IQ would have sucked the brains of the actual writers out like a Super-Zombie sucking brain slushees in the hot summer sun.

That copulating intact female dog of breeding age can go shove that bill up her sphincter after folding it at least 9 times and supergluing a pound and a half each of broken glass, goathead thorns, active chunks of phosphorous, some sodium, maybe some of that ‘rocket-fuel’ that is so volatile it will eat through it’s containment cannister.

Ignorant vulgar term for the exterior portions of a human female’s (genetic, XX chromosome, not surgeried) reproductive system!

Gah! If the stupid really doth burns, she’d melt a hole nigh unto the very bottom of Hell, where once arriving, the Morningstar Himself would throw her out because there’s one thing even the Devil can’t tolerate, vulgar stupidity, which she exhibits in a concentration much that of the density of a collapsed star.

Hey, Wayne-boy La Pierre! Maybe you shoulda used some of the millions you siphoned off of the NRA to attack creatures like this, you slope-headed swarmy piece of dog-squeeze. Any attempt to infringe our 2nd amendment rights is an affront to the Constitution. But, noooo… you had to have your $10-20k a month for new threads for how many years? God, no wonder our side sucks if we keep jerks like him around.

    • Thanks for relieving your frustrations Beans. I feel much the same as you do about SJL. Being from Houston/Harris County, I am sure her vote totals are known before election day; they just can’t submit them till then. That area of Texas is a poster child for election fraud.

I would believe that SJL never knows what is in the bills submitted in her name. Her Marxist handlers write them all.

  10. I suggest htat it is past time to release across the internet the home addresses of all of our elected officials and the senior bureaucrats. Give them something to think about other than screwing with me and you.

  11. Yeah, at this point they are not even pretending when it comes to offering aid and comfort to the foreign enemies at war with the US.

  12. A suggestion to the people who are going to lose their jobs because of the progtards. Learn to code. Do it. Get good at it. Then use it to screw the ever lovin’ MF out of the progtards. Use the anger to learn.

  13. All- Thanks for the comments, I do appreciate it and I can’t disagree with anybody!

Posted from my iPhone, at the gun show! 🙂

  14. Re Gamestop: I firmly believe that this is example #1 that our “superiors” have absolutely no clue how totally pissed off the average Joe and Jane is in this country. To try to run out of existence a store that every parent and grandparent has run their kids to, multiple times…used to be what every shop owner wanted…I hope the “little guys” here take all the big boys lunch money and run!

So far as SJL: I can hear most every Sheriff in the country doing a face palm. On the other hand, maybe it is a good thing that the Dims do ALL the stupid stuff right up front, right off the bat…I had a gal yesterday tell me she was a bit taken aback by so many of the new President’s EO’s/EA’s. She has family who is affected by the Keystone shut down. I asked her why was she surprised? He is doing exactly what he had said he would. He just doesn’t want to bother with that pesky Congress to pass laws when it is much faster to dictate from on high how we are and are not supposed to behave, and what we are and are not allowed to do.

Personally, I am so very tired of other folks telling me what I can and can’t say, can and can’t do, can and can’t own.

  15. All these hateful Gamestop shenanigans just go to show the hedge funders ARE the Real Victims. Yet again.

There they were, just continually skimming off the top of the economy, with periodic bursts of outright pillaging — you know, business as usual — when suddenly a bunch of haters made a coordinated attack on them. For absolutely no reason at all. There’s never any reason for the completely irrational hatred directed toward such good people whose only goal was to more efficiently reallocate capital. They work very hard at it, and their selfless actions are a public service, you know.

The only fair, just, and decent thing to do is to pass some laws protecting hedge fund types. We should make it a Hate Crime, nay, a Crime Against Humanity, to inconvenience the best and brightest. They are only looking out for us; some might call them “wise elder brother”, or perhaps it’s like a drover wrangling his cattle. Either road, get with the program and show some gratitude, you damned ingrates.

  16. I’m loving the raid. Good luck, kids and… Justin Sun/Elon Musk. In the meanwhile, there’s Dogecoin, take it to the Moon?

    • Sadly, it seems dogecoin flamed out. A lot of people balked because you can only buy dogecoin with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency.

The GME debacle continues, though. I think a lot of the SEC regulators are just at a loss as to what to do. This simply isn’t a problem you can just throw money at.

Rep. Lee and the rest of her ilk can pass whatever they like. Don’t care. I won’t comply. Guns will be lost in a tragic blimp* accident. Too bad, so sad, get out.

      * I like being different, sue me.

  17. “Who cares [if they] died in the hospital, died in a nursing home? They died.”
“At this point does it really matter” from another NY politician comes to mind.

  18. With the legacy of 200 President Trump appointed Federal Judges, the (P)regressives will need to find a way to suspend the Constitution to ram their agenda up our ____’s. Bet they will try.
