Memorial Day…

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades.

Just a couple of reminders…

And this from the local Lowes Hardware…

Hand Salute!

Ready, Two.

Memorial Day… — 9 Comments

  1. I and my wife will be going out to our closest military cemetery today. My late wife is out there now. I will be there, someday, next to her.

  2. The room must be a little dusty!

A salute to those who gave all for the idea of the U.S.A.

A prayer that what they did is not in vain.

  3. Kudos to Lowe’s! One of the in-laws worked there while going to college after his stint with the USAF up in Cheyenne.

  4. I’m a vet. I won’t use the reserved parking. My sacrifice was nothing by comparison.
