Things…

Going on around here…

Turned in three of the now FIVE short stories due to various people, signed two contracts, and will be sending the western novella to the editor today.

Tina has come through, as usual, with an excellent cover for it!!!

Hopefully it will be out in a couple of weeks, Kindle only.

In other news, Dot has another book out in what has become her Combined Operations series- Blood, Oil, and Love

As always, click on the cover for the Amazon link!

The blurb-

In a colony world desperate for resources, a search for new reserves reveals a shadow war!

Lizzes Olsen is a newly minted petrogeologist researching the untapped potential of places on her planet even terraforming overlooked. Unfortunately, the site she’s found is deep in enemy-occupied territory. The same enemy is funding the radical eco-terrorism that turned her university toxic, and training terrorists to kill the Empire’s geophysicists and geologists. Between bombings at home and being hunted abroad, Lizzes’ career, and her life, are in danger.

On the other hand, she has the unlikeliest of allies: a fairy god-Gunny Sergeant, and a very determined Imperial Recon soldier named Twitch who’s out to make her his very own happily ever after. If it takes a hecatomb of her enemies to get her down the aisle, they’re going to make it happen…

I was a reader and ‘might’ have given a bit of input too… 😉

And John Van Stry has a new book out in a new series- Mihalis

The blurb-

Twenty years ago, his father saved the world. Or so the history books will probably say once someone gets around to writing them. All Mihalis knows is the world he has been raised into. It’s not a bad world, as things ago, he has a big and loving family, but there is the ongoing ‘war’ that promises to be on-going for a good many years to come.

Raised to the blade by his mother, and taught not only her ways as well as a good many of the ways of her people, but also the ways of his father’s other wives, as well as the ways of his magic, Mihalis has had a very thorough education. Even if a fair deal of that education is in the arts of war.

But all he really wants to do is to prove himself. To go out into the world and show that yes, he is his father’s son, and that yes, he is his own man, to find his own way in the world.

WARNING: “Mihalis” does contain many of those things that the previous series was known for: Bad jokes, poor modern culture references, obscure song references, violence, and yes, what you’ve all been waiting for: Sex. Now SOME PEOPLE don’t seem to UNDERSTAND that these warnings are done as much as a joke as a ‘Spoiler’ alert, to alert the PRUDES that yes, like all MODERN science fiction and urban fantasy stories, there is Sex in the story! Heaven forefend that these quivering fragile flowers should read any modern romance! I dare say they’d die straight-away from the non-stop kinkfest that is modern romance!
So SCREW THEM! YES! There is all sorts of sordid and kinky stuff that’s been done while I wrote this book and most of it was done by YOU! You Dear readers! So let us NOT go into this cold dark night alone or afraid! Because we know what that dreaded noise in the shadows is! That Moaning and Groaning and the rattling of chains! That noise is US!
(Have Fun).

And have a good weekend!

  1. “I was a reader and ‘might’ have given a bit of input to”

You mean your wife can’t put out a book unless you vet it first? Resist the patriarchy.

    🤣

  2. Which should I buy first? I’ll take another pass through and will make a decision.

    Thanks, Old NFO!

  3. Hereso- Dot does what she wants, and as Peter said, she is HIS wife! I don’t have one of those anymore… LOL

    LL- Either is good!

  4. That first cover is suitable for framing, with or without the title on it. Well done!! If there is a high res jpg available I’d print and frame it, guaranteed!

  5. I’ve read both.
Blood, Oil, and Love is better as a stand alone. You’ll benefit from having read at least the book prior if not the entire series before reading Mihalis

  6. Welp, you can’t say that JvS didn’t warn you about “adult content.” 🙂 (Although someone no doubt will complain.)

  7. Sam/Bob- Thanks, Tina is GOOD!

Francis- Good point. Mihalis is by a different author.

TXRed- That he did. and probably… sigh

  8. It’s no secret any longer that Joe Biden’s presidency is not exactly going as smoothly as the Democrats probably hoped it would. In fact the results of a WASHINGTON EXAMINER survey by Becket Adams, showed that the Majority now believe that “Joe Biden Is Kind of an Idiot” Yes, that is EXACTLY what the survey said. This represents an 11-point drop from last March.

The survey mentioned topics such as THE BORDER CRISIS., THE INCOMPETENT BUMBLING WAY THROUGH THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. And the CHAOTIC, DISORDERLY WITHDRAWAL FROM AFGHANISTAN. There was a Consensus that showed that Joe Biden was is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, according to polling data.

Had they called on me for MY Opinion, I would say that Biden is a Spineless, Worthless, Cowardly Idiot Who Sits on His Stinking Ass and Does Nothing While Our Country, Is Going Down the Tubes While It’s Being Invaded by Tens of Thousands of Illegal Aliens. And that NO MATTER How They Try To Hide It, the Fact Is That Biden Is a Miserable Failure!

  9. The Dems KNEW what they were getting when they picked Biden. I am sooooooooooooooooo not bummed for the Dems.
