YGTBSM!!!

The latest National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin is something else…

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors. These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.

<snip>

And these are snippets of a couple of the ‘key factors’ contributing…

The proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions:

  • For example, there is widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021.
  • As COVID-19 restrictions continue to decrease nationwide, increased access to commercial and government facilities and the rising number of mass gatherings could provide increased opportunities for individuals looking to commit acts of violence to do so, often with little or no warning.
  • Some domestic violent extremists have continued to advocate for violence in response to false or misleading narratives about unsubstantiated election fraud. The months preceding the upcoming 2022 midterm elections could provide additional opportunities for these extremists and other individuals to call for violence directed at democratic institutions, political candidates, party offices, election events, and election workers.

Full bulletin HERE from DHS.

Now my question is, is this really an attack on free speech? I’m not sure, but it sure as hell looks like it to me. Especially with the multiple uses of the terms false or misleading… To WHOM?

And WHO is actually putting out the MDM? CDC, the administration, Fauci, ???

  1. The Left values power and success. Everything else is just strategy and tactics. That’s why they’ve been winning for the last 90 years.

    • I would deny that they’ve been winning.

I think that they have been losing, more and more.

Valuing ‘power’ and ‘success’ as the primary goal does not translate into getting power and success.

Consider every young engineering graduate of the last two decades, whose most serious driving consideration has simply been ‘a job, any job’. Okay, I may have personally known an unusual sample of failures in that regard. There are very definitely many examples of things that you don’t get, unless the goal driving your pursuit is rather different from being the measurable, visible thing you also accomplish.

People who want to be a success, but fail because the only thing they want is success, they don’t want to do tasks well in a way that can lead to success.

In the case of the leftist will to power, they have a cack fingered understanding of power, and can break power arrangements that are outside of their dumbass theoretical model.

Look at all the MBAs who want to be a super awesome CEO.

Left tactics and strategy are not things that are reciprocally effective for us, because we are seeking different consequences.

Yes, we are treating left too charitably, in letting them be barbarians without destroying them should they try to exist as such while near to us.

    • In hindsight, Dubya was stabbing us in the back all along.

We were warned at the time that he was up to no good by folks on the right. I did not listen.

Bush may have been deliberately trying to institutionalize the Waco/Ruby Ridge folks, instead of having them driven out of the institutions by GOP supplied nominees who were too decent, honest, and honorable for Bush’s taste.

  2. “These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.”

But of course, the proven false, oppo research, Steele dossier not only wasn’t MDM but was an honorable attempt to “save democracy” from Trump.

  3. Sad, but there is much truth in the apple photo.
Soon we will have a Ministry of Truth.

  4. “Some domestic violent extremists have continued to advocate for violence in response to false or misleading narratives about unsubstantiated election fraud. The months preceding the upcoming 2022 midterm elections could provide additional opportunities for these extremists and other individuals to call for violence directed at democratic institutions, political candidates, party offices, election events, and election workers.” Funny how this wasn’t a problem when the left were looting and burning down cities.

  5. Joseph Goebbels weeps with envy. They’re gonna run out of room on the barn wall over at the Animal Farm.

  6. May I add to the paranoia? The FBI knew well in advance something involving airliners was being planned. Flight school instructors were reporting unusual attitudes from foreign students, etc. The attacks then created a political climate to create DHS and other draconian measures.

  7. If you are worried about rumors among a population, the first thing that you must do is /avoid/ officially telling easily discovered lies for pointless reasons.

To borrow a legitimate official lie from fiction, “Deep Space Radar Telemetry” is going to sound plausible to a general audience, the specialists who from first principles know better are going to be on board with the Air Force keeping secrets, and people around an Air Force base understand that some of what they are hearing is not entirely forthright, and they are also on board with the Air Force keeping important secrets. (Though, there is room for debate if you view the series through the lens that denies the conceit that Star Gate Command is a licit program.)

The root cause of current disbelief, is whenever someone goes ‘hey, wait a minute’ to an official claim, the answer is a heavy-handed “you will trust my assertion”.

Furthermore, the official claims have been very intrusive, and obviously false to a relatively minor first principles analysis. Forex, masking. This is obviously a trade off between certain bacterial exposure, and possible viral exposure. Forex, vaccines. Coronaviruses and rhinoviruses are the cold, and hence are implied to be known to mutate too rapidly for effective vaccination. You would expect any vaccine to be of a past strain, already having passed through the population, and not able to vaccinate against the new strains that we are supposed to fear.

Furthermore, some of these official experts have clearly become accustomed to scamming us, because they have done so for years, and are utterly deranged know that they have started scamming us clumsily, and they are not getting the level of apparent trust they had become accustomed to.

You don’t want a population passing around a bunch of crazy rumors, and trusting rumors more than they do you?

First, you must both have the habit of considering seriously whether you are wrong, and have the habit of being honest in everything that you do. When you truly live both behaviors, people can tell. People can also eventually tell when you are faking the appearance of one or both behaviors.

Jimmy who says false things as the head of a major federal government agency is no more inherently trustworthy than Bill saying false things as a crazy internet rando. “No, we are seriously threatening force to make you trust Jimmy over Bill” is very far from an impressive statement, and /decreases/ official credibility.

On the more specific mess of falsehoods, these people have as a first assumption the idea that the Biden regime is at all licit. I can understand why you might write to reach an audience that is at least publicly willing to appear to assume such. I guess I do not really agree with trying to reach that audience. (This may be an issue where my own emotional nonsense makes me stick to an issue where I am objectively wrong. I think I might be objectively wrong in ignoring that audience.)

  8. We live, NFO, in a streaming torrent, a flood of lies and deceit.

We know where they come from, their Father was a murderer from the beginning.

  9. Cognitive dissonance. Propaganda is meant not to convince, but to humiliate. The more blatant the lie, the more powerful the stunning silence at the effrontery. The devil is afoot these days, he must know his time is growing short. Beware!
