I Used To Be…

What I thought was a ‘Normal Person’…

I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me privileged, a racist, and responsible for slavery.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget, and support myself.

I went to Grammar School, and have always held a job, though now ‘retired’. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was “advantaged”.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.

I think and I reason, and I doubt most of what the ‘main stream’ media tells me, which makes me a Right-wing conspiracy nut.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive culture, making me a xenophobe.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair reward according to each individual’s merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort – not freedom of outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believe in the defense and protection of my nation for and by all citizens, now making me a militant.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for, and the many who died to let it fly, that I spent over 20 years defending, so I stand during our National Anthem – so I must be a racist.

Please help me come to terms with the new me because I’m just not sure who I am anymore!

Funny – it all took place over the last 7 or 8 years! If all this nonsense wasn’t enough … now I don’t even know which toilet to use… and these days I gotta go more frequently!

  1. Sure is nice having Superiors pigeon holing us into categories of their own definition. My chest swells with pride with leaders like these.

Yup, sarcasm is strong with the above.

  2. What you are, is the enemy. You must not only be despised, you must be taught to despise yourself. For if you ever find out that you are strong, you would cast off their chains of paper and reclaim your throne.

  3. You are normal but these days you are becoming increasingly rare.

  4. You have just described Canada since the Trudeau reign of terror began in 2015. Now that he has a coalition with the NDP party and its leader, Singh, it has picked up even more traction. If one is anglophone, Caucasian and male you personify everything that Trudeau, Singh and the left say is wrong with our country. To top it off Trudeau is now coming after hunting firearms while at the same time eliminating minimum sentencing for commission of crimes with firearms and related charges (Bill C-5). Internet censorship may arrive this fall in the form of Bill C-ll….. The federal gov’t is talking about another lockdown possibly this fall unless 80-90% of people are vaccinated to his satisfaction – so reports the media. You folks are about to have the new China on your northern border.

  5. I’m all those things except retired. I was 8 before our house had indoor plumbing and 12 before we had flush toilets and central heat.

I’m privileged because I was taught I was owed a days pay for a days work and nothing more; that if I wanted something I had to work for it; and that hard work wouldn’t kill me. I was taught that if my feelings got hurt to suck it up and keep going. And to never quit a job until I had a job.

I didn’t think so then, but I was privileged to be raised that way.

  6. You’ve got lots of company. Hang in there. You need make no apology for who you are and how you got there.

I like the last problem best though…!

  7. You are among many of us that are in the same category in what has become a comic book world of zany ideas of right and wrong. I often wish God would remove me and take me home so I would not have to deal with the craziness this world has become. The older I get the more I anticipate the Lord or His angels coming to take me to my heavenly home. Most people do not realize that death is not the end but is the continuation of life in another realm. Which realm is by each persons decision. Choose Jesus Christ and you win. Reject Jesus Christ or choose differently you lose. It’s as simple as that. There is no middle ground where you can play wait and see.

  8. If it makes you feel any better, you’ve always been an infidel to the Muslims.

  9. Right there with you… They can call me many names, but I am proud of who I am, and what I have accomplished.

Just remember, if they pigeonhole you, act like a pigeon: steal their food and cr*p on them!

  10. I am all of those things. My grandfather, half-indian (I forget Native American) from AZ was a Gardener in Tucson. My Dad served at 17 from 43-45 in the Marines island hopping, until he was blown up on Okinawa and then spent another year in a Naval Hospital. In 46 he was given a medical retirement. Then married my mom and had 3 of us, with me coming last by 6 years. My parents were were on the poor side until my Dad finished college. We lived in Southern California.

I spent from 4-13 summers working with my Grandfather as the smog in LA bothered me. The heat was hard but better then the smog and heat. After 13 I could handle the smog and heat of LA. I worked on lawns in the area until I was 16 and got a job in a restaurant. When I graduated HS my folks showed me the door.

I worked my way through UCLA by working for the phone company working in the Mexican slums of East LA and then the Black Slums of South Central LA. I studied Electrical Engineering and met my wife at UCLA. We are still married and have 2 sons.

    1. There is no such thing as whites being superior. Most whites are superior as they have higher SAT scores, hold most patents, and run most business.
    2. The country is based on Judio-Christan Religion and the atheist/islamic want to stop this
    3. Blacks believing that they are “owed” something for slavery is a way to make money. Slavery was and is forced on all races by all races. African tribes sold others to Europeans and Muslims. The USA for the deadliest war that stopped slavery. Before that slavery was done by Whites, Blacks, Native Americans.

  11. The door to the room you’re looking for is marked Men, although I have seen alternatives such as setters and pointers. Being old fashioned, I prefer the plain label.

If any individual passionately, or even bemusedly, objects to something in the United States, he-she-or-it is free to seek out like minded individuals and call attention to their cause by public demonstration and published writings. They may seek redress through a complex court system, and eventually they may actually change this objectionable situation to something more to their liking.

Elected officials have retained their seat in office on cases that fit this description.

You’re in good company, Old NFO.

  12. jrg- Snort…

McC- Point, but I never thought it would be in my OWN country…

Bad- True, only us old farts!

David- I’m truly sorry to hear that…

Mike V- I hear ya, and I agree!

    Ian- LOL

    John- Very true!

JMI- Oh yeah, I’ve known that for years!!!

    SLee- Love it!!!

JG- Yes, we’ve earned what we have through WORK!

    Bill- True…dammit…

    WSF- That they do!

  13. Yep…. we get called a lot of names.

Name-calling is the weakest and most childish of arguments, proof – if any is required – that those doing it cannot support their case with anything more convincing. It is a tacit admission that they don’t have a case.

    • The problem is name calling works. Had a dispute with a neighbor – he brought a false suit for which I got awarded all costs. He went around the neighborhood telling people things. At this point I had video on the house. I invited people to read the court records and watch the video-no takers. People who would talk to me quit talking. False accusations work and even when you can prove a negative it doesn’t matter.

My mother was all upset with Trump and couldn’t vote for him due to his mean tweets even though she can barely work email.

Sadly many people will believe the lies of people they know are liars. Until we can get people to break this behavior this is a quick and effective means of manipulating the gullible.

Simply put = You’re old enough not to believe the BS. Or as my daughter put it – The older I get the more I realize the things you’ve told me are true.

  14. Nazi is my favorite. They just throw that one around as a catch all.

Fine. “Nazi” it is. Be careful what you fucking wish for.

    * I have no affiliation with the NSDAP, But I am from the Pinochet school. Free helicopter rides for that scum. We’re all Nazis now right? FAFO.
